My MIL2B is waiting until my mum has bought her outfit but my mum is useless at outfit shopping (you think she'd have got the hang of picking wedding outfits by now ) and keeps asking about colours.
At one point she thought about getting navy blue but I think that would look a bit odd against the red (me) and black (sis).
I was thinking maybe silver tones, creams, or pastel colours?

I let the mums choose what colours they wanted to wear. I thought it was up to them to choose what they wanted to wear. I went shopping with my mum though and helped her to decide. She chose her outfit and then we told Pauls mum what colour it is. My mum was quite organised though and got her outfit sorted a good few months before the wedding. If she hadn't then I would have told Pauls mum to just go ahead and get what she wanted.

It doesnt really matter what colour the mums wear, unless youre having a very unified theme. I had deep red as one of my colours, and my mum wore lilac. Horrid combination but it hardly mattered. You dont want mum to look like one of the BM's, and there really is no need to co-ordinate them with the rest of the wedding party. I second the idea of letting them choose what they look good in.
My mum wore gold / mauve colour and it was gorgeous, even though I had a gold dress, actually looked really good. J's mum wasn't there, but his auntie wore a green / cream / navy combination and looked fab.
I thought Mums wore what they wanted. I had enough trouble coordinationg myself let alone worrying about them as well

Some days it just isnt worth chewing through the leather straps in the morning!
I'd love them to pick their own thing, if only my mum would stop pestering me!
