Default Bride gave bridesmaids option to pick dresses

I need help! My twin sister gave her bridesmaids (me - matron of honor, and one other bridesmaid, "Cindy") the option to pick their own dresses. Problem is, Cindy and I CANNOT agree on a dress style! My sister LOVES the dresses I have picked out, but hasn't seen any of Cindy's styles. It's a June 25th, 2006 wedding in Central NJ (HOT!!!!) and I had suggested getting Alfred Angelo separates (so I can have my style and Cindy could have hers). Or if we're wearing the same dress, make it sleveless and wear a wrap. We're both self conscious about our upper arms (I'm a size 16 and she's a size 18-20) and we're certainly not sticks. Anyway, Cindy wants a dress with sleeves, and I would much prefer one without sleeves and wear a wrap to cover my arms during the ceremony/pictures. My question is this... what should my sister (the BRIDE) be doing/should have done to deal with the bridesmaid dress issue?

I am nervous to see Cindy's choices of dresses because just during the wedding gown fiasco i went to with her, she was picking out dresses for my sister that were absolutely horrid! If we never agree on a style, wouldn't separates be the way to go?

Either that or choose one dress each and donīt tell the bride who chose each dress, just show her pictures of each one and let her pick her favorite. Her day after all really.
