Help me! (again!) - Wedding Forum

Ok... this is the last thing im, going to worry about now, i promise (well, for today anyway!)

We were originally having a sit down buffet, with all the trimmings; place names, favours, table numbers etc... BUT with all Neal's mates being in Afghanistan and one thing or another, I have absoolutely no idea who is coming on the day!

I have to give the final numbers to the venue next week, which is not a probem, we can make a rough estimate and that'll have to do... but what do you think I should do about my place settings? I am going to do away with the place name cards (didnt cost much, so no loss there), but I have 30 favours all ready that we were going to give to the female guests. If I dont know where anyone is sitting then I cant put them on the tables, I dont really like the idea of putting them in a basket for them to take... might have worked better if we had got some for the male guests too, but it seems really cheap putting a note on saying "if you are a woman you can have a favour!"

So I dont know... any ideas? Should I try and find a better way of giving them out, or scrap the whole thing and sell the favours?

I always said i would never be a neurotic bride, and look at me now, harping on! lol I'll be worrying about how to fold the napkins next!

Not sure if this is a good idea of not, but how about asking your CB or BM to take them round and give them out to the ladies once they have sat down after the meal and speeches?

I am having a buffet too, and not place settings. My BM and one of the ushers are going to go round and give out the favours.

Thats a really good idea... I have a BM who is 11 and im sure she'd like her own special little job to do! I'll have to ask her! Thanks girls... knew i could rely on you for a good idea!

If you are having any little BMs it would be nice to get them to give a favour to each of the ladies.... Yes, I agree with everyone else as always!

OK, been into town, bought a basket and lined it with ivory satin trimmed with gold ribbon... it looks lovely! It has handles on it too, so little BM can just carry it round and ask people to take one.

We're having a buffet too and no placenames, everyone can just sit wherever they want. We're going to give the favours to everyone when we say goodbye.
