Default Who's having favours?

We don't know whether to have favours or not. If we do have them we have no idea what to have.
What are you all doing?

hi sian,
We're thinking of having favours, but did dither for a long time as to whether its a waste of money or not. I've been to weddings where friends have had the sugared almonds and similar and sadly they just git left on tables ( some people are so ungrateful).
Me and H2B are opting for lottery tickets which are cheaper than a lot of chocolate etc favours, then I'm going to customise envelopes for them to go with our wedding theme. We're hoping if nothing else it will be an ice breaker, and you never know someone might get lucky

We have decided to have favours - but def not sugared almonds as I cant stand the things!!
We have brought some small Ikea glass tealight holders for (30p each) and I am going to put our wedding date etc on them and at each place setting will be an organza bag with 2 scented tealights in it. These will be on our tables so the marquee will be full of glowing candles! We will announce in the speeches that the guests can take them away at the end if they want to. For the kiddies I am making up organza bags filled with things to keep them occupied!

We are undecided at the moment

We are thinking of having small boxes full of assorted chocolates (as, I HATE sugared almonds), the thing about boxes is that the guests will be curious to see what's in them, they cost £1.25 each, just need to decide if it's worth it.

We're probably going for little cheap glass candle holders from Ikea with our names written on and the wedding date, and probably a box of Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans (the tables will be named after characters from Harry Potter. I have the Harry Potter font if anyone wants it emailed, by the way

We're undecided. If we do have them it will be wedding crackers from Totally Crakers, otherwise we shan't bother. Having said that we do have the Ikea Tealights so we could write our names and the date on them. We really want to crackers because they are not likely to be ignore by anyone and we're hoping they will break the ice a bit and get the festivities off to a nice start, but it just depends on the cash at the time.

I voted yes but we are actually having wedding crackers containing a gift and fun stuff rather than an actual favour.

Bev, Jo from Totally Crackers came round my house today (she lives very near to me) with loads of samples and stuff, she is really nice and VERY helpful!!

Hi Sian,
We are going to buy the Swizzels Love Hearts with 'Just Married' on them. Haven't decided if we are going to put them in a box or a nice wee bag yet. If we go with the box will get ivory ones and use a nice gold pen to write each guest's name, our names and the date on the lid so they have a momento to keep if they wish to do so.

We've having em and we're going for CD's. It's worked out quite reasonable we have made them ourselves with the CD writer and I made little lilac sleeves for them with a stamp on and a silver heart. They will be labeled shortly too - I've designed a purple flower which says our names and the wedding date in the middle.
Its not a slushy one it's some of our favourite songs, so hopefully people will then think of us when they play it.

I agree tho almonds are pants - who likes them anyway? I had rolo's in a gold box at a friends wedding last year and I can tell you there weren't any of those left at the end of the night!

Are you recording them yourselves or writing them straight to disk? Wouldn't you have to pay copyright fees - even pro videographers can't record in a church without paying copyright fees if there is going to be church music??

We are having the suagared almonds, I personally love 'em!! But we are getting white rounds of netting edged with silver and putting them in that and tying them with a red rose, so it will be slightly different.

We're giving favours only to the female day guests, so we have managed to go for something quite different......we're having Jaguar XK8 convertible models (we both LOVE them) and Stealth aircraft models (H2B has just passed is private pilot's licence) and we're having them done up in our wedding colours (blue and ivory) and decorated with our personal number plates (a7lyg and b17lyg) and "just married" and little miniature boots and cans etc tied to the back to make them look like going away transportation, We're having them put in boxes decorated with flowers and ribbon and the pic of us that is on the front of our invites (stationer is doing it all). At night we're giving all the females there a scroll with a poem and the pic of us from the invites on it, thanking them for coming and asking them to keep it as a momento of the day - these will be tied with ribbon to a tiny bag of that stuff you throw over the bride and groom (can't say the "c" word!) which we'll ask them to keep and throw over us during the last dance of the night........

I am giving out scented candles to the women during the day and minature bottles of whisky to the men. At night I'll only be giving favours to the women, gold boxes with a chocolate in it.

Hello All

We are having favours: Organza bags in 3 colours (light pink, light ivory, light bkue lavender) which will contain 3 scented t-lights in 3 colours...
AND ALSO "SUGARS ALMONDS" well if it is like that you calls them here, as we call them "Dragées" in France, I have been to France to get them as well as silver sugar pearls.

I agree tho almonds are pants - who likes them anyway?
Now we are doing the reception in Uk, with some British guests included... What do you mean: They won't like them? and think they are "pants"??? OMG! What have I done?

OMG...

X
