Default Has it happened to you too?

Hahem...
I just bought two basques in a department store, and took them home to try under my dress... as am looking for a low back one, strapless.
While trying one of them I damaged one of them - the net material inside the garnment between the armature and the next "bone" (?) is torn... it is of course visible...

OMG... am so ambarrassed as also it doesn't fit under this dress...and I will have to return it...

I have did the same thing once a couple of years ago, and was dead embarrased! I took it back to the shop and claimed it was like that when I got it

Before Christmas I bought two different sized tops from Oasis (couldn't decide exactly how much cleavage I wanted to reveal!). I ended up trying them on in a hurry just before the works Christmas do and then took the smaller one back to the shop. Anyway, when I got there and took it out the bag I realised I'd got crusty deodorant all over it (apologies for this Girls...) and the shop assisstant went all snooty and "we can't take that back" but she did say if I sponged it they might be able to! SO I did, but then it was the same assisstant when I took it back and she recognised me, BUT I got my refund (and probably blushed hideously in the process. What I'm saying is Balls it out, you never know until you try!

Unhappy OMG...

LoL Girls,

I feel so really bad on this one, that definetely was an option Dawn : to buy it (or keep it) anyway because of what happened to it... to the risk of never really wear it... Mind it is a nice little basque, ivory with lace and small crystal/diamonds in the work...
Then to return only the other one??? But I'd rather return it as it is not what fits under the dress...

Hmmm, am glad to see though we are all SO GOOD,LOL!!!

( ) and X's to you all...

well gothbride i have to say that i take EVERYTHING back and make out it was the stores fault.

i got a pair of trousers from warehouse and they were a fortune. after i had them washed they went all tatty and i went into a huff,

i asked my mum how she washed them and she said read the label and thats how.

i read the label and it said dry clean only.

i took them back to the shop demanding my money back saying i had worn them once and look .

the assistant said oh have you washed them and i said no of course not.

i got my money back and i ran out the store and bought some cheaper wash in the machine ones.

Moral of this story just take it back and claim to be very offended by the stores incompetence.

I'm afraid I'm another "Goody Two Shoes"

I'd take it back to the shop & say when you went to try it on you noticed that it was damaged!!

Well, you never know until you try!

I agree with everyone else - if they say anything about it tell them it was already like it!

My mum works in a shop, and lots of things get taken back to them. They can't prove it wasnt like that when you bought it can they? Def. worth a go!

Hi

I work in a shop and believe you me we do notice if things are damaged or marked in any way before we sell them, then we have to either sell them at a reduced price or send them back to the warehouse
Reading all the comments made me wonder to myself how stupid people think shop assistants really are when it comes to situations like this and the stories that you all have to make up just so you can get a refund well believe me there isn't one that I havent heard before

If it could be damaged from just trying it on once then its faulty - Id take it back - you're entitled to a refund if theres something wrong with it!

Default LoL.......

Yes, I know exactly how it is...
Because I have been myself in chrge of a boutique...
But in no way it does change the way the customer in us act, or it make her/him worst I reckon, lol LoL
In anyway as I have paid for it with the card shop, they won't totally lose out onit...lol...as they can not refund it in money to me but just credit my account of the same amount...

I think I will play it a bit in the middle like saying nothing and if the shop assistant says anything I will say oh yes I have noticed that... but then was it really me???

Knowing perfectly that ALL of us have been there...LoL...

Just like a kid, am I not, lol...

However really fun to hear all the embarassing stories thx

X

Gothbride

Will think of you all when I go to exchange it nextt, LOL!!!!
