Default Structural engineer required to help with cake!

My poor mum......

Nick's mum wanted to make our cake but she can't decorate them; my mum did 'Cake Decorating For Beginners' at night school about ten years ago because A-Level PSychology was full......

SO she said she'd have a go at icing it. Then I spotted in 'You And Your Wedding' mag a couple who'd made squares of cake, individually iced and stacked into a pyramid and thought , "Ooooh!!! I'll steal that idea!"

Last night my mum phoned me to say she was surrounded by squares of cheap maderia cake, all iced funnily, and was unable to work out how to stack them up evenly.......

Oh well! She's got another 7 months to practice yet!

Nikki

I saw that cake! I loved it, and was perfect because you'd just have to give guests a block to take home instead of slicing it all!!

I'm sure there's an easy calculation that can be made to work out how many go on the bottom so it turns out to be a more or less perfect pyramid. Tell me how many squares there are in total, how big each one is and how high you'd like it and I may be able to work something out
