Thank you all for the welcome.

Well here is my story. I met my h2b in a local nightclub on New Years eve. I was pritty down in the dumbs when I met him having just spent the whole of Christmas working and I was missing my family like mad. ( they live in Scotland and I live in Lancaster, moved here 4 years ago ) I had choosen to stay in Lancaster for New Year and travel up to Scotland after Hogmany. At the turn of the year I was regreting it and yearning for my family.
We had tickets for a club in town and had spent a few hours there we had planned to spend the whole night there but decided to move on. By the time we got to the club were we met I was a wreck having been crying loads, ( the emotions of New Year and a little drunk ) anyway after gazing at each other for hours and neither of us plucking up the courage to speak my best friend went over and spoke to him and then took me over. ( very primary school ) We were inseperable for the rest of the night.
He was in the army and based down in Hull his regiment had just been sent to Iraq but as he had broken his ankle just before Xmas so he hadn't gone, lucky for me. So our realationship bloomed we spent every weekend together it was hard not seeing him every day but I coped with it. Then the bomb shell came 4 months after we got together. He was being posted to Germany we were devasted and new this would be the making or breaking of us, so in May off he went it was a very emotional departure. I went over to visit him in June about 2 weeks after he left we stayed in a lovely hotel and he took me to Roermond for a lovely meal and asked me to marry him. I of course said YES and the planning begun.
That was over two years ago and Christopher is still in Germany and I am still in Lancaster its been really hard living apart but it has just made us stronger. We are getting married on Saturday 24th June this year in Scotland. We are haing a civil ceremony in a hotel but are being married by a minister. ( friend of the family ) My sister in law, niece and Christophers niece is bridesmaids and flower girl.
I am so excited but a little worried at all the stuff I have to do this year.
Think I have bored you all enough anything else you want to know just ask.

Sarah

Well the wedding details to date are : -

- Having a civil ceremony in a hotel. The Cairn Hotel in Bathgate ( which is half way between Glasgow and Edinburgh ) Think the web site is www.thecairnhotel.co.uk if you want to have a peek.

- I choose my dress last year and its by Sincerity will get back to you about the style. My bridesmaids are going to be in peach/terracotta/salmon pink very difficult colour to deciher. My flower girl is going to be in cream same as me.

- My h2b and best man are wearing grey morningsuits with cream waistcoats and crafats ( think thats the correct spelling ) and my dad, brother and nephew plus the majority of my male guests are wearing kilts. ( Scottish/English divide )

- We are inviting 80 to the wedding breakfast and a further 100 at night having a DJ at night and a Harpist during the day.

- My stationary is all matching invites, place cards, menus, guest book etc.

- Flowers haven't decided on finally yet but cream will be in there somewere as will roses my favourite flower.

- Photographer is booked and unsure if we can afford a videographer yet.

- Cars booked 2 S class mercedes.

We haven't got our wedding rings the one I wanted has been discountinued so its back to the drawing board at the moment. I still need to get a tiara for me ( not wearing a veil ) and shoes for me and the bridesmaids/flowergirls. Having our hair and makeup done on the day.

Think I have covered everything. Its so hard trying to organise everything when I live in England and the wedding is in Scotland but hopefully it wont be too stressful.

Sarah

Good luck for the last few weeks of planning the wedding..... in some ways it's the most exciting part!

Are you moving over to Germany once you've got married? (Just being nosey)
