Hi Karen :)

We\'re not having a car as our ceremony, meal and reception are all in the same place. Phew - more money saved!! :D ;)

Not sure what to go for at the moment - I\'m not very keen about spending £300 or more on a car that is giong to drive 15mins from my parents house to the ceremony, where no one will see me get out of the car.

We\' are having the reception at the same place so its not like I even need it to drive anywhere else - but all the places I\'ve called are insisting on me paying this obsene amount of money for nothing! Any suggestions would be appreciated, at this rate I\'ll be jumping in a cab!

Em, where are you getting married as cabs in brighton are white aren\'t they?

I\'m not bothering, I\'ll try to check in to the hotel as early as possible and get ready/ changed there and just float down the stairs without having been crushed in a car for 20 minutes!!

Roz,

Yup the cabs in Brighton are white (with a bit of green) however, am getting married in Surrey, just outside Guildford, where the cabs sadly are black. Plus I\'m a little concerned about getting into a regular cab in a white dress!

Fingers crossed that it comes off, but I think my Best Man\'s mother\'s boyfriend will be lending us his Jag which Best Man\'s brother-in-law will drive. He mentioned the offer early after we announced we were engaged and I\'ve asked Best Man to check the offer still stands. I think the Best Man will then use my car to drive himself and the bridesmaids up to the venue. My car is only an Astra but its new and Silver and looks nice when its polished up, so whats the point of spending hundreds on a car which will drive just under a mile to the hotel ?

My dad has said that I have walked to the church for the last 20 years so I can just keep walking! I have to say we only live about 500 yards from the church. We worked out that if we got a limo we could more or less get in one end at the house and get out at the other end at the church! Also the village is down some very windy lanes and it would probably get stuck behind a tractor or some thing.

Me , too. Going to venue a couple of hours before hand with CBM & champagne so I can jsut \'stroll\' down the stairs at the appropriate moment. The best man will drive H2b in his car - veryone else will come by own car or cabs!! :tumble::tumble:

We opted for a car because I get my dress, and Ben\'s treat is the car.

Originally we were going to have a civil ceremony at the reception venue, and we weren\'t going to bother with cars.

Now that we\'ve found a vicar to marry us, we\'ve saved a lot of money by not having the civil ceremony, so it means we can afford a car!

Yay!
