Does anyone have a list of people you need to noitfy of your name change that I can steal to save me sitting here for hours racking my brains trying to put one together?

Thanks

everything you need to know is on the link. the annoying thing is that you have to do them all one at a time because you need to send the original wedding certificate of with each of them. this means that it takes an average of 2-3 weeks for each of them. you have to send it off and wait for it to come back. very annoying.

also nobody put that if you have a child then their birth needs to be re-registered, it becomes invalid because its no longer your name on the birth certificate etc

Ang, thanks for the link! Beck - I heard you can get two certificates so that may speed up the process a bit! We have no kids to complicate things yet

You can also request they send the certificate back by return of post. They only need to see it to start the name change process off. They don't need to keep it until it's completed and so should be able to get it back to you within a couple of days.

you could however get more than one original copy of your wedding certificate. cos i had got so many things to change over, i got 5 copies. but you can only get them on the day of the wedding - that is if you go after the service to the registrar and get them done - they cost £5 each. but it was dead handy to have more than one copy.
