Default Favours and Music

This is very similar to Popsie's request but I didnt wish to barge in on her thread!

For the ladies we have net favours but Im a bit of a loss as to what to put in them. I thought maybe pot pourri, but is that a bit naff (be honest with me!)? The men will be getting chocolates as I assume they will pass them to their wives/partners anyway.

As for music, Im having a civil wedding and would like the Wedding March. I assume that its not religious, or is it? For those that have been married I would love the wedding march, then some classical music when signing the register and then some Barry White and mowtown stuff. But how do the venue get the timings for all the discs right? Will they do the music or do I have to get my mum to sit at the back and faff with the discs?!!!

I wouldn't be so sure on the men passing the chocs on to their other halves, they scoffed the lot at our wedding! We gave the men and women chocolate hearts in pillow boxes. Don't really know what else you could put in them, if you put pot pourri in it they could use it to put in their drawers to make their clothes smell nice when the got home which is quite nice.
Can't help on the music front - sorry.

I did little chiffon-y pouches of freshly dried lavendar for the ladies. I loved them and made sure I had extra to use myself. 2 years on and they still smell gorgeous... as does my lingerie drawer and linens cupboard that they're in I'm lucky as there is a lavendar farm close to me and I was able to get it super fresh in bulk (plus a few freebie bits of soap and whatnot ). But I think the ladies all like them, so they've said anyhow.

For the fellas I made wedding crackers and filled them with Hershey's Kisses wrapped in my wedding colours. They were a big hit since the whole cracker-thing is new to most Americans. Plus I couldn't go wrong giving a bunch of fellas something even slightly "explosive" to play with . And I'm quite sure they scoffed all the choccies too.

Scented candles? Maybe a little more modern than pot pourri if you're worried about the latter.

Personally i'm not convinced anyone really cares what's in favours, like crackers at christmas they're all about how the outside looks and how they add to the overall decor

(A fact I wished i'd realised before I stressed for ages about flippin favours)

We gave the women little vanilla tea lights in a glass holder and a packet of love heart and the men just got the sweets!! They all went down well with everyone
