Default am i overreacting or what?

getting married in 10 days and my dresses are still not ready. I'm freaking out now cause now the dressmaker is saying they won't be ready next week!!!! This would be ok if I could get my BMs to come for a fitting but I have one saying she could only go on thursday night (2 days before the wedding) and the other BM keeps saying she will let me know when she is free but never gets back to me. Getting annoyed, thursday night before the wedding does not leave enough time for alterations but my BM doesn't seem to care. It's starting to feel like i'm the only one who cares about the wedding, it's going to be a disaster their dresses probably won't fit properly cause they can't be arsed to go for a fitting. Andy keeps telling me to calm down and not worry about it but I can't help it i have enough to worry about without this as well.

It'll be fine, try not to stress. Dressmakers work a lot quicker than you think so 10 days is a long time.

I didn't even go for my first fitting for wedding dress until a few weeks before and it turned out beautifully.

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.

And my dress hadn't had its alterations done 90 minutes before the ceremony! (they forgot!). It will be fine honey I promise though I know why you're pissed off. Your bms aren't being terribly helpful!

I think the way you are feeling is perfectly normal, unfortunately noone realises how much time, effort and worry you put into organising a wedding other than yourself or your partner I don't think. Dress makers can work quickly, I didn't get my dresses till the day before, as we had difficulty organising all the bridesmaids for fittings too. Don't worry, it will all come together in time.

I'd be feeling stressed out as well, but as already said it WILL all come together in the end. Promise!

I'd be stressed aswell, I was lucky I picked up my dress 12th may. But we have a best man who doesn't want to come to the wedding rehearsal and also doesn't want to wear the suit I had to drag him there today, and now he's in a mood and is still being a pain about the wedding rehearsal on Saturday. I think he's enjoying stressing me out.

I had problems with our best man just being too laid back about things, I remember 3 days before the wedding he finally met with me about everything. He hadn't even looked at the book we had bought him, not a page and he forgot to bring it so we could flick through while making the list. To top it all off he even asked me to cook him dinner when he arrived!!! It's not like I didn't have another million things to be doing.
These things are sent to try us, but don't worry it will all be OK on the day - trust me. Hope you get everything sorted out with the best man soon so it doesn't add to your worries.

Ive never know a bride whose dress wasnt ready for the ceremony. Im sure everything will be fine. If you are really worried then I would phone the shop and your bridesmaid and let them know how you are feeling and how their laid backness is making you feel. Im sure it will all be ok on the day.

Other people are never going to be as concerned as you about your wedding. If the BMs look a fright on the day, then that's their lookout
You and Andy will be the centre of attention anyway

Do try not to get yourself too worked up over this.

Try not to get worked up over it all. It will be fine. I ended up having my dress altered the day before my wedding as I'd lost weight and it was too big.

Thanks everyone, I have calmed down a bit now decided that if they can't be bothered to go for a fitting then it's their tough luck if the dresses don't fit properly. As long as mine fits im happy
