Hi guys, well at the weekend i went out with my mum to have a few things done for the wedding, we ordered the suits for the men and i must say they did look lovely, mum had her lashes put on and i had my nails done and my make up trial. Well mum was really pleased with her lashes and my nails well they are not to bad but they are not the best i have ever had done and now i have to go back and have one put back on as i snapped it off completly, but my make up trial was awful. Iam so upset about it and it has put me off of having anybody else do it, iam thinking of going to Debenhams or good old House of Fraser and buying the make up and doing it myself. First of all she shaped my eyebrows, well the tops of my eyes are still bright red and sore from saturday and it is now tuesday. As for the makeup we chatted about colors and what i wear normally but that was ignored i had gold along the eyelashes, then brown on the lid black in the crease of the eye and gold again at the brow, it was so heavy with thick eyeliner and loads of blusher, i looked in the mirror and she said oh you dont look very convinced, lets try something else so she took it all off and this time did burgandy on the lashes pink on the lid black in the crease and silver up to the brow, well by this time the second look in the mirror i had just decided to give up i made her take it all off and i just walked out of the shop with no make up on and £70 poorer i just didnt know what to say to the women as i was gob smacked, but iam so pissed off and what a waste of money, but because she was so well thought of in the area i had stupidly already booked her in to do the make up on the day which i now have to cancel, but how do you tell someone that they made you look like the cast of the rocky horror show, i know that sometimes wedding makeup is applied thicker to show up in the photos but this was awful. There was no way i was going to walk out of the shop looking like it, also i didnt want Nick to see me lookig like it.
I am so sorry that your trial did not go well Suzy.
I was in the same situation where I was out of pocket for a poor make up trial but I went and had another one done as I really wanted someone to do mine and luckily it was great that time.
If you feel happier buying the make up and doing it yourself then thats what you should do - you dont need extra things to be worrying about.

ps: where are you incase anyone has any recomendations near by?
I hated mine too. I looked like a clown and ended up doing it myself. I didn't do it anymore heavily except a used foundation instead of tinted moisturisor. I dont think I look too bad considering.

Some days it just isnt worth chewing through the leather straps in the morning!
Thanks Bron, did your make up stay on all, or did you need to touch it up a bit, Popsie i have phoned a few beauty studios and they all offer bridal make up but after wasting money on one iam not sure what to do, you said that you went for a second try out with someone else were you worried about it or would you keep trying till you found someone, and iam based herts/essex as you asked. Take care all and one
I did my own and it stayed on all day, although I did pop back upstairs in the evening to pop a little loose powder on. As long as you use a good base, then foundation, powder, blusher/eye make-up and finally set it all with a loose powder before doing your mascara, it should stay put.

I hope that my child, looking back on today
Will remember a mother who had time to play;
Because children grow up while you're not looking,
There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking.
So, quiet now cobwebs go to sleep.
I'm nursing my baby, and babies don't keep.
I can't believe she put so much on you. My make up artist put next to nothing on me, and managed to talk me into the natural look with no eye liner whatsoever. I am really pleased that she did now.
If you are comfortable with doing your own makeup and you like how it looks then why not do it yourself? You could go into house of frazer or somewhere for one of those consultations and try out the products before you buy them.
My make up stayed on all day, but then I hardly had any on. All I did in the night time was add a little bit of darker eye shadow into my eye sockets, a bit of loose powder, clinique soft liner eye pencil in grey and lip gloss. This was because it was the lightling was a lot dimmer in the night and I wanted to go for a slightly different look. I did this myself and I was more than happy with it. Just do what makes you feel confident, the last thing you want to worry about is not being happy with your make up on the day.
