Default Table decorations

OK, next job for me is table decorations........

I have loads of table diamonds which I love and want to incorporate into the design, but otherwise I'm a bit stumped.

We have one idea, which involves, polysterene, spray paint and dragonflies - my brother is working on this (he makes models etc - runs a magazine about them).

If that doesn't work out then we have to try to think of something else that is cheap but looks stunning - anyone any thoughts?

See, I wanted something different to the tall glass vases and mirrors - they are gorgeous but I didnt think they were right for our venue.

It took the talents of (one of) my florists to come up with what we are having and I love it.

What about something like a fish bowl with some bear grass inside and floating flower heads?

No idea if these people ship to the UK but with your colour scheme they would be lovely incorporated into flowers in some way

I had round bowls from ikea with floating gerberas in our colour scheme and glass beads at the bottom. It looked really effective on the tables. If you are having trouble incorporating dragon flies into your centre piece, how about having them on the name cards or in the wine glasses instead? I love dragon flies - good choice on theme!

Well we have some large dragonflies that we could stick on the side of whatever we have.....

I definately want something quite simple (but funky) as the venue is quite decorative already (pic below) and Chris has said definately nothing tall - not sure why, but at least he's having some input

The bowls could look quite good..... just a matter of sourcing them. Will check out ikea....

Love the photos of the venue, looks very elegant. I think our bowls worked out about £3 each in Ikea, then we ordered gerberas (same as bridesmaids flowers) to be delivered directly to the hotel and they cut the heads off and put them in the water with the stones etc. It looked quite simple but effective, and saved lots of money! I would lend you our bowls, but after the reception I got the staff to put the displays in the hotel rooms of my family and they all took them home. Now when they have parties they get them out as decorations and put floating flowers or candles in, and I'm a bit gutted as I didn't get to keep one for myself!

I was looking at exactly the same one as youjust now on the Ikea website, though not sure if the stand looks posh enough. If I were you I would go down to ikea and have a good look because in my experience they didn't show all the bowls on the website, because the ones I chose weren't on there when I was looking for our wedding. I can't remember if we found them in the kitchen section or maybe even the garden section? Plus, if you go for a visit you may find something else that you prefer.

Also, it may be worth looking in the 'housey' section of ASDA, just a thought...

Ooooh Tasha they're lovely, I think they might be abit out of my price range, but ooooh they're nice.

Might have to do some budget juggling!
