Question Wedding in Australia

This is my first posting so sorry if I get it all wrong!!

Can anyone suggest anywhere to marry in Australia (preferably Sydney)? We cancelled our wedding in the UK because we couldn't be bothered with all the bickering and decided to spend the money on a cracking holiday instead.

There will only be the two of us, so it will be a pretty quiet affair. We also don't want to spend thousands on it as we've been together 12 years!

Any ideas?

Kim

Hiya

I'm marrying an Australian, but over here & then emigrating.

However, I've a few Aussie wedding mags, so I'll have a look for you, there's bound to be loads of venues (I've got a few in my head right now!) I'll just check the details & get back to you, ok? Would you consider Melbourne or Brisbane as well, or just Sydney?

Hi Kim,

I'm not much use either, I'm afraid. But just wanted to welcome you to the gang.

Bev might be able to help you when she gets back because she's been living out there for a while. She's just got back to the UK (assuming she's not still wondering around Singapore airport.!!)

Ps good on you for doing it your way! I wanted to do something like that to avoid hassles, but I'm too much of a wimp.

hi there!

I'm an aussie bride so I can probably help a bit, but not necessarily with Sydney - maybe Hel could help there.

Any particular reason why you picked Sydney? The reason I ask is that things are quite expensive there compared to other major cities. And what are you looking for style wise? Casual, formal, big, small........

There are lots of areas around the major cities which can be a lot cheaper and often have some wonderful photo opportunities.

anyway, if you could fill us in a bit more about what you are looking for then maybe I can help. oh yes - and what time of year?

Fiona
