But I am known to have the odd one or two when nervous and having a drink.
But I have seen brides outside the church having a drag, and dont think it looks all that nice, with all your dress, and how about walking down the isle to your H2B?? He'll smell it!!
Any ways around the nerves problem, and not giving in to cigs, or are you gonna have a cig b4???
The evening is sorted, I am gonna sneak in and out the loo's with my Sister (CBM) and smoke in private, as I know all the ol guests will frown!!
I am a smoker (for my sins) and have also been thinking about this. It doesn't exactly look atractive standing outside the church having a smoke does it!! I won't be having one outside the church - if I smoke when nervous, my voice goes! So I will wait till the reception.
Am afraid I agree with Eleanor, you are so a smoker. On the to smoke or not to smoke front. I remember going to a wedding where the bride stood outside with a fag in one hand and a pint in the other. I have to say that although she had obviously put a lot of effort into the way she looked, i.e. dress, tiara, shoes etc but the entire look was made cheap by the fag and pint so if you do need a ciggie make sure no one can see.

" I am a smoker and my name is Nikki"
There - I'm admitting it!!!! I'm hoping to give up before the wedding but if I don't then I will have one before I leave the house. My friend had a cigar immediately after her ceremony in the church grounds and she just looked quite cool - but then, she was the sort of girl who'd have looked cool and gorgeous smoking a badger whilst wearing a paper bag.........

when I kiss you goodnight I will
hold you a little tighter, a little longer. It is then, that I will thank
God for you, and ask him for nothing,
I will have one or 10 before we leave for the church, I wont smoke outside the church, I don't think it looks that good, plus knowing my luck I'll burn hole in my dress!!!

How "sad" ??? (I don't mean that far...) to have to sneak for a ciggy because the guests will frown...
What about just to try to have a "good" attitude about the matter and hold your cigarette with "dignity" lol, LMAO...
I have been smoking for 10 years and I stopped 2 years 1/2 ago... very difficult... Now it would just make me "puke" even though I can sometimes feel like one (never give in though) like you when I am on the nerves and have a drink... But for the day I will not smoke as I don't want to llok green and start fainting, LOL!!!
Don't forget the mints!
Gothgroom's Mum and Gran are smokers and they look very fine when they smoke, elegant somehow...

Maybe if you think you might not be able to resist having a ciggie at some point, you could go all Audrey Hepburn and invest in an elegant cigarette holder? Might be a better look than the usual approach.
Not really 100% on this topic but it is smoking related.....
Yesterday Matt realised that he had a small problem, he's now decided to invite his parents (LONG STORY!), they have no idea that he smokes, they would be horrified , he's now not only going to have to avoid smoking from 4pm at the wedding but hope that none of his friends ask him if he wants a cigarette!!! ( I know I shouldn't laugh but it will be funny, mind you I expect he'll get me to sneak off somewhere with him so he can have a quick cig! )
