Wine Table Names..... - Wedding Forum

Hi
Following on from Sarah's thread, we are thinking of naming our tables after types of wine (yummeee!) but have only got about 6, rioja, chardonnay, cabernet, sauvignon, sherry(?), pinot,

any more suggestions very much appreciated

can't remeber which ones you have got but i am stealing these from anothre site for you ( anything tio save me from housework lol)
Chardonnay, Riesling, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Gris and Sangiovese. Chablis, Burgundy, Champagne, Sherry and Port.Bordeaux, Chablis, Chianti, Burgundy, Beaujolais and Champagne.

Not too hot with wines but i will give it a shot. Here are a few i can think of:

Martini Asti Spumante (yummy)
Lambrini

Nope that's it i'm afraid. If it was spirits than i wouldn't have any problems.

Claret, merlot, champagne! port, frascati, liebfraumilch (bleaugh)... um.....

Do you want to name them after wines (like Liebfraumilch), or after grape varieties (chardonnay, pinot noir) or wine types (champagne)?

We are going for our favourite grape varieties along with a piccy of them on each table as we and most of our guests are winos.

Grape varieties you could go for are:

Cabernet Franc
Cabernet Sauvignon
Chardonnay
Gewurztraminer
Grenache
Merlot
Muscadet
Pinot Noir
Riesling
Sauvignon Blanc
Syrah/Shiraz
Tempranillo

As far as wines go, the list is almost endless:

France:

Claret
Cotes du Rhone
Cote Rotie
Chateau Neuf du Pape
Croze Hermitage
Champagne
Burgundey
Beaujolais Nouveau
St Emilion

........

Spain:

Rioja
Ribera Del Duero
Navarra
Priorat

I don't know many from other countries but this should get you started. Why not try all of them before the wedding and pick out your favourites?
