Default Bargain Votive candles found! (...and what did I miss??)

Hi all!

I went to Ikea at the weekend and found Votive candles (6for £1.50) and clear glass holders (4 for £1.50). That works out to be 62p each !!!! BARGAIN!!

I had to share my find with you all. By the way, the candles come in cream and red (at least that the colours they had at Thurrock) Someone on Hitched also said they've seen them in yellow and blue too!

As my weekend was so busy spending lots of money at the shops I wasnt on here so I was upset to deduce that we've had some trouble. Its really hard to work out whats happened due to deletion of what I guess is nastiness. What I think I have worked out is who it is, and all I will add is that if it is the same character than enjoyed this sort of reaction on ******** a few months ago then PLEASE ignore her. She thrives on attention, and isnt fussed what sort she gets, the more negative the better I think. She will go away - once ******** girls worked out that ignoring her was the cure, she soon went away (thank goodness) She deserves pity not anger in my humble view (as does her H2B )

Bye for now,
Jo

now i have calmed down i think you are right jo. I reguard people on here as my friends and although i wasn't logged on whn it was all happening i wa on here b4 any threads had been deleted and the things she said to people who didn't deserve it was unacceptible adn one of my faults is i am loyal to my friends people can insult me and i let it go insult my friends and i retaliate, on reflection though i think you ar right she is to be pited realy

They're taller than tea lights (and burn for longer - 10 hours I think) but about as wide. I bought 40 in total to decorate the whole of the reception venue with in the evening. I'm having about 8 tables plus the buffet tresle, so 40 should look pretty enough I hope!

Emma,

I know its hard, especially when you have a temper like I do!! I got into a couple of 'discussions' with Stephanie in order to stick up for others, but then I thought long and hard about it and realised I was playing right into her hands.

I have some great friends on the various wedding sites, but its also worth remembering that the internet is open to all sorts of people. She isnt someone whose opinion I would give a s**t about if I met her down the pub, so why should I care what she says on here?? Strange people in the world, all of whom can get on the internet. Who knows - 'she' may be a 54 yr old bloke that never been married or close to it - who knows, who cares!

The good guys will always rally round and protect others! Girl power!!

Candles sound fab - will check this out....

Please don't let Steph get to you - she thrives on winding people up. If you don't like the way she goes on, the simple answer is to not respond.

I am having candles for the tables too but I got mine at Au Naturale, cost £4 each...they are tealights which float in a little glass tealight holder which is inside a bigger bowl which is filled with water. I was thinking, as I only had to buy 5 (the tables seat 10) that I may get my florist to make me a ring of flowers so that the bowls sit in the middle of the flowers....something fragrant like sweetpea and freesia. I think that candles look lovely in the evening

I bought some of those candles too! Pity I had already got little scented tealights in glass (instead of the bendy aluminium) from Army and Navy in the sale - £3 for 6 I think (my mum bought them!). The ones I have from Ikea smell really strongly although none of us can work out what they smell of!! It is a really fresh smell like grass or watermelon or something!

They have made my room smell without even lighting them!
