Veil Help!! - Wedding Forum

Ok, now I need you lovely ladies to have a look at this pic.....

Check out the veil!! This is a pic of my grandparents on their wedding day on Nov 17, 1948. She has said that I can wear her veil for our wedding!! It is what I have been looking for but I am not sure if it is White! I have emailed her to ask but I am trying to see if I can tell from the pic ( not easy when the pics are in Black and white!! ) Have a look and tell me what you think??? I would love to wear it but if it is not white then it wil just look like it's dirty next to the bright white of my dress. Unless there is some way of turning it white with out destorying it??? HELP!!!

I will add I can't go and have a look because she lives in Canada!

What a gorgeous veil! It is hard to tell but I'd guess that in 1948 most brides wore white and not ivory etc? I do hope it's right as it is really lovely!

I'd say white too. It might be worth asking somewhere like a dry cleaners if they can get it white white

Beautiful! I had a long veil too. I'd probably guess at white, what does she thing? Can she get it out and compare it to something white to check?

I have emailed her so I hope it doesn't take her weeks to get back to me about it. It hasn't been worn since that day because no one else wanted it!! I wish I was as small as my Gram because then I would wear her dress as well!! She was wearing it for their 50th wedding anniversary. Yep, after 50 yrs and 2 kids it still fit her.
