Default Mothers..Mothers in law

Good morning!!

I\'ve just split my trousers - so can\'t type well from stabbing myself with a needle in an attempt to make my trousers and myself decent!!

Anyhow, I just wondered how everyone is getting on with their mothers and mothers in law during their wedding preparations..

My mum is driving me mad about the flowers - I asked her to sort them out, thinking she would just go away and do it quietly, but she keeps phoning me asking what I think of this or of that and I swear I\'m going to lose the plot soon.

I get on well with my MIL2B now. She\'s quite nice really, but she\'s keeping well out of the wedding stuff.

How about you guys?

Mel

I\'m getting on well with my mother - think it helps that she is in Morocco! Distance can be a good thing :lol: Everything is fine with my mil too - she\'s very interested in the wedding, but wants everything to be what Dan and I want - so she\'s not forcing any opinions on me... Guess I\'m quite lucky really.

Split your trousers? How?! Did you fall off your chair again? Has Jonathan said something I\'ve missed? I expect he\'ll fall off his chair when he reads this.......

I did it bending down to pick up a paper clip. I was a bit enthusiastic, that\'s all!!

I hope J does fall off his chair... its about time someone else got the bruises!!

PS hasn\'t anyone ever split their trousers before? Last time I did it was during a game where you have to pick up a cereal box with your teeth..

I\'ve never seen Jonathan fall off a chair...I am sure it is something to look forward to! :P

The last time I split my trousers, I was fetching a friends little boy from Nursery...I went in to his classroom, he threw himself across the room shouting \'Auntie Karen, Auntie Karen!!\' straight into me. I hunkered down to catch him, heard my trousers split, and it was all I could do to keep my balance with this 2 year old human canonball!!

I thought my ears were burning at University this morning, all this talk about me

I didn\'t fall off my chair, you\'ll all be relieved to hear, but nearly choked on my sandwich (Boots Shapers Smoked Turkey, stuffing and cranberry chutney, fact fans :D)

I once split a pair of shorts when I was playing for my primary school football team, about 1977ish. Can\'t remember how I did it but the seam below the crotch area came away so it looked like I was wearing a mini-skirt. I went off to get changed, came back to find I had been substituted. I was gutted :(

Oh, and my parents are doing sweet FA about the wedding. So thats a good thing

My Dad will be taking part in the service as he is a vicar (yes, difficult to believe I know, judging by his offspring ) so he\'ll get more interested nearer the time, and Mum is more interested in moving house as my Dad retires and moves around the same time as the wedding, so they\'re otherwise preoccupied. Means zero inteference, anyway :D

Having a Vicar in the family is great for fancy dress props:lol:

It also meant that my Sister\'s wedding cost about £500 in the mid-90\'s as Dad did it in his church (no problems with her not living in the parish) and the reception was in the church hall. Why did he have to retire before our wedding
