Another one to scratch from my never ending list of things I still have to do - have definately decided not to bother with a make up artist and am going it alone. And after the job I did of it the other night I'm feeling very confident about that decision. As long as I take my time I am perfectly fine. Just need to get a new foundation, and a waterproof mascara, anda concealer and then I'm sorted. Oooh, might get a new lippy too. Still cheaper than paying a complete stranger to paint all over my face and giving me the Vera Duckworth look. Not so confident about my hair, think I might sit down tomorrow night and try some stuff out on it. Wish me luck!!!
Glad you've sorted you make-up out! I think I'm going to end up doing my own too!
I hardly ever wear make up & when I do It's never a lot so I think I'll just get practicing and try to find a foundation that looks "natural" as I NEVER wear it normally but don't want to look blotchy on the day or in the piccies!!
Good Luck with the hair!

Well done Bev for sorting that out yourself!!! I don't know if I had the guts to do it myself, but I have got a couple of people coming round to give me a trial, so if I don't like it, then I will probably end up doing it myself!!
I am doing my own too. I have been to a few counters, and just wasn't happy with what they did to my face! Also, I am allergic to so many things that I don't want to run the risk of puffing up half way through the ceremony!
I am going for a natural look anyway, so it shouldn't be too hard.
I am doing my own hair as well. I am either wearing it all down, or in a messy half up half down do, which I can do myself. I will get it trimmed a few days before, and will hit it with the straightening irons on the day to make it look really shiny.
Good luck with your hair Bev. And let us know if you need any more help!
im just doing my own, everyone says my room looks like a make up counter anyway.
i will just do a glam version of my usual day to day.

Phew that was hard work!!
My little baby yeah not so much now my little man is now almost 3 years old !! not a baby no more
My little ginger man speaks spanish!!
I cheated and got a pro in, and he make up lasted all day, whereas when I do my own it's normally all fallen b4 lunch time!!
For those of you that are braver than me, a great foundation is Rimmels Natural Look (about £6.75) I started using it 2 months ago and everyone said how good my skin looked (I didn't tell them I was wearing makeup though )
Hope this helps

Thanks for the tips and support ladies. Very keen on any recomendations you all have for various foundations and mascaras and concealers - I usually mix my Boots No7 foundation with an equal amount of moisturiser to thin it out but on the day I would like to use one neat as it were so looking for hot tips, cheers Lo! I don't use concealer at all so no ideas there, and must get mascara because mine was a crappy one to start with and it's a bit on the gloopy side, so cheers for that Roz. I'll do a bit of hunting around and then make my selection.
Not sure what to do with my hair at all - there is no veil or tiara to worry about, although I would like some pretty clips or something o go in it. The dress maker said to me that she felt that fat faced girlies like me (she was more tactful ) look better with a bit of hair down, rather than it all piled on top of their heads, so I'm looking at half up half down at the mo. Saw a quite nice style in a wedding mag I bought here a week ago (can't scan it, scanner not set up yet) which I may try and emulate. I'll let you know how I get on.
