Default Gloss or Stick?

Just wondering whats everyone wearing (hopefully except the 2 J's) on their lips i find lip gloss disappears very quickly but then i think lots of lippie ends up on h2b rather than my lips.

I have voted just lippy - when I wear lippy with gloss it always 'bleeds' and ends it looking really messy! I like gloss on its own but on me, I prefer lip stick if I want to go for the 'perfect' look.

It depends how gloss is on you though. I think gloss and lip stick look lovely together - it just doesnt work on me

Hmm then I'd say go with lip stick. You could carry a small one and a mirror in your bag if you are having one, or ask a BM to look after it for you.

Maybe later on you could add some gloss if you wanted - maybe for the photos?

A tip from my make up artist.....apply lippy with a brush, this way it goes on more evenly, and lasts longer. Mine lasted through the ceremony, wedding breakfast AND all that kissing!!! :teehee:

What lippy did you use? It sounds great!!

I'm thinking of using Lipfinity but then I've got a lovely gloss by Estee Lauder which I may put on the top for photos

It was one the pro had in her box, but I think it was a Lancome or Clinique sampler

She did say that Lipfinity was also excellent!

I wear Lipfinity, it last for ages! You get a coloured base coat that you apply with brush then a glossy top coat which is in a stick. The top coat doesnt last as long, but its easy enough to re apply as its just a clear gloss, so no messing around trying to make sure you have got it just right

That lipfinity stuff sounds great! I was just going to go for a subtle coloured gloss, but I think I might push the boat out and invest in some of that instead!

I'm going to go the lipfinity route I think!! It feels dry but looks glossy. It's all quite clever really!

i really like it and if you make sure the base coat is dry before putting on the top one it can last all day - even thru lots of kissing!

Stace, if you like gloss you should try Mac's Lipglass - it's kind of sticky so it stays on better. My friend is in the middle of her degree in make-up (how much fun can that be?!) and she reckons it's excellent... Just a thought.
Anyway, I voted for both, I'm too used to wearing make-up - I'd think my mouth had disappeared if I didn't have lipstick on, and I wanna be all glossy in the photos!

I'm a lipstick only gal. I can't stand sticky lips so I'm one of those few who looks for lipsticks that dry right out and are very matt. I use the one that is meant to last hours by L'Oreal. I just hope they don't stop making 'dry' lipstick as it seems from the advertising that most people want to moisturise their lips with lipstick and gloss (weird I think but hey!).

Just a quick point.

If you are wearing a veil stay well clear of gloss. Can you imagine the nightmare if your veil sticks to your lips and you leave pink smudges all over it.

I hadn't really thought about this, but I suppose I would go for a stick that won't shift too much when I snog Tim!

if you go for something like lipfinity tho the gloss is clear and stays clear, it doesnt mix with the base coat. I some times have to use baby oil to get the lipstick off again as it really stays on.

Put it this way, i can kiss Daniel straight after applying it and it doesnt budge

Lots of people have mentioned Lipfinity but I have never seen it? Can you tell me who makes it and where I can get it? It sounds really good!

Thanks
