Yup we took all our own champagne and wine with us to the venue, coz the stuff they could provide us with was expensive and crap.

We got charged £8 per bottle for wine and £12 per bottle for champagne/sparkling. Which does seem like a lot of money - but we got all our booze from belgium (we have friends who work in the hotel business over there) and paid wholesale european prices - so we got fantastic wines and champagnes for less than the cheapest rubbish we could have ordered at our venue.

Yep, we did the same. Bought Perrier Jouet Champagne in bulk from France.

It was on special offer so we got it for about £9.00 per bottle. The hotel then charged us corkage of £10.00 per bottle making it a total of £19.00 per bottle.

To buy it in the hotel was just over £30.00 per bottle.

Much cheaper

Dawn

P.S Welcome back Em - how you feeling?

If you have got the budget and its something you would like to do, I'd say go for it. We provided drinks for all our guests all night, and it was definitely greatly appreciated.

Thanks Dawn - I'm feeling fine thanks - this is my 2nd day without morning sickness now, so fingers crossed its gone for good.

We got our wine from france and the reception venue are charging us £4 corkage per bottle. It works out about £6 per bottle and the cheapest house wine at the venue is £13 so it wors out alot cheaper for us!!

Have fun

Sam

Not really, but my jeans do feel as though they are getting a little tighter around the waist - which is very depressing!

We're getting our own booze (from France, more than likely), being charged £5 per bottle corkage for wine, £7.50 for champers.

Our hotel also charged £4 for wine and £7.50 corkage, and there are some GREAT savings on day trips to France at the moment! Hmmm, champers, my fave
