We didn't bother with any kind of background music - with 110 people chatting/laughing etc. there was more than enough background noise in the marquee.

We have hired our DJ for the whole day reception as well as the evening party. He is going to play some classical music for background during the meal, and also act as toastmaster.

We are going for a classical guitarist. As there are only 35 of us he shouldn't get drowned out by the talking. Though after a few bottles of wine, I'm not sure.

Our reception is in the evening and we haven't got a disco or band on afterwards so we thought this would be a nice alternative.

Hi

We've hired a pianist - he's going to play light jazz music (e.g. sinatra, nat king cole, cole porter etc).

Also some chopin cos he's my fave!

I'm really looking forward to him!

We are still deciding whether to hire a string quartet or harpist .. if we do then that will be the back ground music. If not, then we will either not have any, or have a CD playing.

We'll probably have a sinatra style CD as it can't really offend anyone, we really must sort the music soon!!!

We didn't have anything. There was 65 of us and it was nice to sit there with my new hubby listening to the chit chat of our friends and family enjoying our special day with us!

There'll only be 50 of us, and my brother is in charge of putting selected cd's on the venue's sound system throughout the reception - low key ones only though, nothing competing with chat.

We are having our meal on a canal boat, and they have a CD player. I was thinking of getting one a mix cd of chilled out music like Enigma etc. If I can't find one, I will burn a CD myself.
