I know too!! Nottingham is fab - I moved up here just a year ago, and there are loads of bars, nice trendy places to eat, more traditional pubs & some good clubs too!
As far as somewhere to stay - I would suggest somewhere like the PremierLodge, which is very close to the train station, and also to town. It only opened last year, so is nice & new!
There are also adverts up everywhere for a new Travel Inn that opened in November (try their website www.travelinn.co.uk - probably!!)
Depends when you are coming here as to where I would suggest you go drinking. In the Summer the Canal Street area is nice (lots of bars right by each other by the canal, there is also a Jongleurs Comedy Club in this area - they get a lot of stag & hen nights there - but book up early, also some of the acts are very blue, so if you have any girls that are easily shocked I wouldn\'t suggest it!!)
There is also the Corner House which is newly opened as has loads of trendy bars & eateries!! There is a Virgin Gym here too, and a friend of mine has a pampering day there - not sure how much it cost, but might be something nice. This is near the Lace Market area, which again has some nice wine bars!
Good luck with your planning. Let me know what you decide & if I can be of anymore help!
Love Kate ;)
