Exclamation Trying To Raise Money For My Son's Wedding

Hi everyone --

I'm new to the Wedding Forum and I was hoping to get some attention for my efforts to raise money for my son's wedding. My son has just recovered from a bad car crash about two years ago and he proposed to his girlfriend (who is now pregnant!) just after the accident. Now he is working 2 different jobs 7 days a week and struggling to pay his (medical) bills. They have been hoping to get married for two years now but because of my son's recovery and because they cannot afford it right now, it didn't happen yet. They really deserve this and I'm hoping to surprise them soon, and give them their wedding they dream of. I'm currently about 1,000 dollars short of financing their entire wedding and I hope there are people out there who are willing to help me out.

I have set up a fundraising page at http://www.fundable.com/groupactions...ew?searchterm= . Please, if there is anything you can miss.. it would be so greatly appreciated.

I hope I'm not violating forum rules with this message. I'm sorry if I did.

Thank you.

What a fantastic idea! Why on earth didn't I think of this OK fellow Groovers as a long standing regular user of this forum I was wondering if any of you might like to contribute towards our wedding

Sorry it's not violating rules but it is bloody cheeky as hell to ask complete strangers to pay towards a wedding. I appreciate you want to give your son a lovely day but it'll be just as lovely done with what you can afford.

Nooo Ang, if people should contribute to anyone's wedding it should be mine.

Oh no, hang on, I actually waited 7 years until it was financially sensible to get married, and now I can afford it myself. Put away the charity boxes, I'm ok thanks.

I'm sorry but I think it is really cheeky of you to come on here and ask us to help pay for your sons wedding. I appreciate he has had a tough time and you want to give him the perfect day but its cheeky of you to beg us for money towards it.

You can still have an amazing day with the money you have. Cut back on a few things if you can't afford everything or postpone it for a few months while you save the money.

Unfortunately, this is something to be wary of and I would not advise anyone to give money, to people they dont know.

Even if this is true, you should have only joined for the advice people can give.

And whats the rush.

Is he disabled, or able, I'm confused.
