Default Worried about my dress

Yo Again

I am getting married Aug 24th ....

I have been dieting since last year and have done really well so far, I ordered a size lower dress (18) and 18 clothes do fit me now, cept they are a bit tight. I have less than 3 months to go and I have only lost 5pounds more than what i was at my dress fitting.

My weight loss is really slowing down, and summer is here with all these bloody bank holidays LOL!!!

What If on Aug 6th, it doesnt fit properly??? And is abit too tight, is it easy to take dresses out? I wish I ordered a size higher now, least then I could have it taken in.

Depressed B2B

Karen

I think Bev had hers let out successfully (or panels inserted) so it can be done, but don't give up yet if you want to lose the weight - redouble your efforts!! (and good luck!)

Karen,

I am also a Karen who is marrying a Paul!! Totally irrelevant but...

Yes dresses can be let out fairly easily depending on the style. They are generally made with decent seams of around 1.5 inches .

I know this because I checked it out on my dress and was told the same!

I had my fitting last week and the bodice was sitting a little high making me look like I have implants! I have been trying my hardest since then to tone the old hips up a little (along with everything else!), but was told it could still be let out if I wasn't happy with it.

Why is it that I have always been able to lose weight really well in the past when I have put my mind to it, but the one time it is REALLY important I haven't been able to lose an ounce?

Hi Karen!

Like you, I am getting hitched on 24th August!

And like you, I ordered a dress size lower than I was so that I could "slim" into it. And I don't think I have lost enough either!

I have been told that I can get an inch or two let out on my dress, and as Roz said I know Bev did this too. So it is definately possible! I would talk to your dress shop/dress maker and see what they think.

Hope this helps!

Aaaah yes, as has been shown here my dress disaster is world famous. My dress was out by several inches and was sitting on me all wrong. I went to a fabby dress maker who couldn't let it out enough in the right areas so ended up adding small panels in the side. I know they are there and it annoys the f@*% out of me, but no one else has even noticed them! It won't come to that for you anyway, but just to let you know that even if the worst came to the worst it would still be ok.

There are a few of us about for August 24th (three months today . and I have the same problem but in reverse!

I orderer the correct size dress - having been a size 8 for as long as I can remember....... but then i gave up smoking because I don't want to be standing in my lovely dress 'having a fag'. and I have put on a stone and gone up to a size 10!!

When I had my fitting last month, the dress was very 'snug' around the middle indeed.
