Groom\'s Attendants. - Wedding Forum

Morning All!
Has anyone heard of the tradition that the Groom has to find \'Attendants\' to match the number of Bridesmaids the Bride has?
Htb is driving me insane saying this is an old tradition and if he doesn\'t have 3 mates standing alongside him & his Best man, people will think he is a \'Jonny-no-mates\'!

Never heard of that one, I\'m afraid. I\'m having one BM, and there\'s 2 ushers but tI wouldn\'t call them \"my attendants\". One of them is Karen\'s brother, might be amusing to refer to him as one of \"my attendants\", see what the reaction is :lol:. Black eye, I\'d suspect.

Any idea what a \'Groomsman\' is?
Saw this in a Wedding magazine on mug in a gift catalogue.

It\'s probably a farty word meaning Best Man. Avoid at all costs :D

They do that here actually! I\'ve noticed everyone is evenly balanced in wedding pics. :lol: I say bugger it - I\'m fed up of being told what we have to do and wear, it\'s beyond a joke. One bride guardian for me, best man for \'im indoors and thats it. :cool:

I think its quite an american thing. The attendents tend to walk the bm\'s down the isle before the bride.

I\'m not going to bother with that though.

I\'ve got a lot of Aussie bridal mags and when you look a the photography there are troops of blokes and girls all dressed the same in EVERY SINGLE ONE!! :o Must cost these people a fortune. :no:
