Default Acknowledging replies??

I have just gone through my to do list on another wedding site and there is a note saying "Acknowledge replies and send out gift list details on request"

Has anyone else acknowledged replies and how have you done it??

We didn't acknowledge replies, as we'd sent the gift list out with the invites (although that's not the correct etiquette )

You'll end up spending a fortune on stamps or phone calls if you did!!!

We just took it that if they had taken the time to reply, they would takethe time to turn up!

We didn't acknowlege replies either. Sounds like a bit of a waste of time and expense to me. If people ask for gift list details we obviously toldl them, other than that we just left it. If their reply gets lost, you will of course chase them later on down the line to find out if thye are coming or not.

We just sent out information packs to guests who accepted as the wedding is in a different town. We started it off with "we're delighted you're able to join us on our special day"
We finished it off with "if you would like to buy us a gift, we have a wedding list at ........."

Well.....you are all more organised than me!!

I had not even thought about acknowledging replies. I have asked for people to rsvp by the end of May, and then next week I will call those who have not got back to us.

As for the guest list......well we haven't even sorted one out yet! We weren' t going to have one, because we have lived together for so long now that there is nothing that we really need. Also, people are already paying to travel to Amsterdam to the wedding, so I didn't want to ask for a gift as well. But a lot of family members have been asking about it, so we are going to try to set one up online.
