Right now - absolutely nowt! Finding it very hard to get work Down Under - I think they think I\'m a backpacker so they think I\'m going to run off as soon as I get the job. :( Before I came over though I had been working for Jessops camera stores in New Oxford Street - a two year slog after finishing my photography degree. The idea was to pay off my student loans so I could go freelance, but the pay is so atrocious I ended up in worse trouble. GGrrrrrrr.
Wait this this one, I doubt if you will be able to contain your excitement!
I\'m a \"Graduate Planning Surveyor\". Basically I\'m a Town Planner, working in a private surveying firm doing my two underpaid years until I qualify.
I actually quite like it (thankfully) but it\'s not really something you like to talk about at dinner parties... ;)
I work for the University of London, organising graduation ceremonies and exams, among other things. All quite interesting, but sometimes I hate it alot!! :)
But then, who doesn\'t eh??
I work in IT Support for Deloitte & Touche in Nottingham. Not very exciting really. Would like to eventually go into training. But got ot work on that yet.
Currently at college studying to be a Holistic Therapist. I used to work for De Montfort Uni dealing with PhD students it included a lot of admin. Before that I worked for BT and way before that I managed a gift shop for the biggest bitch on the planet!!
Must say it was strange going back to college and mingling with 18 year olds..most of the people on our course are mature but there are a few young un\'s and we all have a fab time even though we have hardly anything in common. Love it!!
Hi, I find this quite hard to answer. My job is a box-office assistant at the Royal Festival Hall in London, but my career is singing.
I left college in the summer, in fact I got engaged the day after I left college as my h2b and I always said we wouldn\'t get married whilst we were students. I am now trying to start my career as a professional singer and organise our wedding at the same time.
I posted on ************* about this a few days ago.
By the way my h2b thinks I am getting addicted to these sites as every time he phones me up I on-line. Am I the only b2b who has this problem??
So no!! We\'re all addicted!!
Where did you go to college? A friend of mine is in her final year at the royal college doing singing (i think). I would have loved to have done music - A Level was as far as it went (but H2B is an ordinary music graduate- which explains why he\'s working in a pub!!)
Hi Jess! :) We are all addicted - I throw hissy fits saying I\'ll never look at another site etc, but I go back the next day. ;) This one is the best though. :P
I am a residential care officer in a respite care unit. The children are aged between 10 and 18. They all have learning difficulties, some have challenging behaviour (understatement!), and some are physically handicapped.
I work shifts, but currently only 24 hours a week, so I see my H2B fairly often! I graduated with a degree in Social Anthropology from Queens University of Belfast. Ummm - is there a link between my degree and my job - not that I can see!lol.
MY fiance actually is registed on confetti and posts threads, so he understands how addictive it can be - I love him :D
Evening all! :P I have just finished at Trinity College London. Recently I have had a tough time auditioning for opera companies and getting no where and I have to say that being able to log on a read about fab wedding things has been great.
My h2b is sitting next to me getting impatient and wants to have a go on \"his\" computor. Thanks for keeping me sane Cheers Jess.
I work as a Marketing Coordinator for a large civil engineering contractor who do roads, bridges, sewage treatment works (Mmmmm, lovely :duh:). My job is to get the company on tender lists so I guess it has a sales element to it. I am also chairman of the Chartered Institute of Marketing in mid-yorkshire.
God, that sounded very stale and boring so :D:D:D:D to liven it up! It is interesting, honest! This is my 5th job in 10 years and I absolutely love it, and sewage treatment works are fascinating places, actually. Let me know if you want a site visit :D
I\'m a secretary too, but it\'s v. dull. I do work for the National Trust though, so get to work in a lovely stately home. I\'m open to new offers, all you recruitment consultants! (I have got a degree!)
I\'m an import supervisor for an airfreight company, which sounds a bit dull but you wouldn\'t believe the stuff that people bring in/out of the country!!!
Jonathon - do you get many requests for visits to sewage treatment works??
Cazz, we get people hammering at our front door begging us to let them look round the sewage works we build!
I\'m actually organising a visit to the Scarborough Waste Water Treatment Works for the Chartered Institute of Marketing next year as its a fascinating case study of marketing a by-product of the process. They create dry fertiliser from the waste and sell it on to farmers and others who have a need. Sounds gross but I understand it is very high quality and is a natural product so is wonderful for the environment. they just keep it hush-hush as to where it comes from :P. As you\'ve expressed an interest, I\'ll put you on the attendee list if you like !!
