Question How many fittings are you having?

Reading the postings about dress fittings, it occurs to me that I am unusual in that I have only had one fitting....or is it that I am just lucky?

I ordered my dress in October, it cam in a few weeks ago, then about 3 weeks ago I went for a fitting, where the only alteration was the length. One week later i took the dress home and it is now hanging in my mum's spare room

Everyone seems to be having several fittings, and all of them really close to the wedding. I suppose my bodice holds me in so well, that i would have to lose about 3 stone in the next 6 weeks for it not to fit anymore 9and the chances of that are slim to none!

The bridal suite just do the one fitting, Rebekah!

I had one the week before the big day, and everything was fin, the dress a perfect fit, so I didn't need anymore!

I guess if it needed alterations, I would have had one more fitting to make sure it was all okay! :teehee:

Panic over!

I think I had 2 or 3 - not bad considering how bad my dress was when it turned up.

I had 3 fittings in the end.

I guess it depends how many alterations need making though!

I ordered my dress back in October and it has just arrived, i went last night to try it all on only to find it is TOO BIG,.. due to the fact that i'm having weight trouble the shop have decided that they are only going to do one fitting about 2 weeks before the big day just in case i need even more taking in, so i think one fitting seems about right as my bridesmaids too are only having one fitting and that is at a different outlet.

I think the number of fittings really does depend on the type of dress ordered and whether you are going to change shape at all. I have had a made to measure dress and have not changed shape in the last 5 years, so am assuming that when it arrives it will fit (minus being taken up a bit). Whereas I know because I am an odd shape if I had ordered a standard size alot would need to be done and more than one fitting would be required.

I was quite nervous, it takes seven months to have the dress made and I have been assured I will only need one fitting one month before the wedding (it all sounded a bit too easy if you know what I mean). If something goes wrong a month before they will need to speed up the making process a bit.
