More Bad News! - Wedding Forum

This week is going from bad to worse and it's only Tuesday,

For those that remember my thread about my little brother being a total pain in the ass, well unfortunately or fortunately it depends on which way you look at it, he has been sent to prison.

My mum & dad (divorced) are obviously both upset and mad, which is quite understandable.

Sorry this is slightly off topic, but due to this, wedding plans are now on hold!

Without being too personal, what has he done? I mean, I am not asking you to divulge his sins here but what I am trying to get at is what is the likeliehood of him having to serve the full term??

Realistically, non serious crimes never serve their full sentence, so he may "drop lucky" depending on what he has done. He may only have to serve part of the sentence. they also take into account time that has been spent in custody etc. Was he inside while awaiting trial??

How long has he been sentenced for? Is he likely to be able to make it to the wedding or not? Anyway, have huge hugs and we are all thinking about you!!

I hope you have a good Sat night and can forget about your worries for a while.

When is your brother expected to come out of prison? Hopefully he will be able to get out early.

He's been given 6 months for driving offences, non-payment of fines etc.

We're hoping that he will be out in 3 months.

I would say that providing he behaves himself then he should be out in three months!
My best man is a policeman and have asked him and he says that 99.9% of the time people in prison for driving offences rarely serve more than half of their actual sentence.

If it's any consolation, my brother got done for drug dealing last year (Cannabis) he got a fine but he hasn't stopped, sometimes it's the harsh things that make people learn - unfortunately (hope I havent spoken out of turn). One day my brother will end up inside, he's a cocky/irresponsible little s**t!

oh and also MY PARENTS paid the fine

We will make sure you have the most FANTASTIC time on Saturday!

poor ness your not having the best week hope your bro gets out quicker, thats whats wrong with the system we put people in prison for parking fines and leave no room for the murderers

That really is bad news, I can't belive people get sent to prison for not paying fines, you would think 30 day sentance or something would be more appropriate, or community service or something.

Are you going to put the wedding plans on hold until your Brother is out of prison?

I had a friend who's H2b was sent to prison just a few months before the planned weddding day (he was guilty of GBH, so no real sympothy for hime) but my poor frind was devastated, these thing have such an impact on everyone, not just the person who hoes to jail.

Oh Ness!

You must be feeling terrible.

My little brother was sentenced in Feb and got 3 months. They were the hardest 3 months of my life and I will never forget how badly it affects the people that they love....

My brother is out, and is giving me away

But I just wanted to say that I know how you feel.... The last thing I wanted to do was sort out wedding stuff when one of my family was banged up.

Which ever way you look at this, he is still your brother and believe me, he is going to need your support more than you realise. Please don't give up on him, even though he may be a pain in the arse
