What day do you go on honeymoon? - Wedding Forum

Hi All,

I was just wondering what day after the wedding you are going on honeymoon if you are having one?

We are flying out on the Sunday (get married Saturday) at 6.00pm, so we have to be at the airport at 3.00pm.

We don't have to be out of the hotel till 12.00, and so I don't really want to go home in between, however Ian does.

I have tried explaining that once we have had lunch with the parents, it's not giving us much time anyway but he wants to go and pack!!!!

Am I being horrid here and shall we go home inbetween or shall I stand firm and say that we pack b4 hand and have the cases at the hotel all ready for us?

We're marrying on the Saturday afternoon and flying out on Monday morning. Didn't fancy a mad rush on the sunday with a hangover, prefer to take it easy.

I'd suggest packing before hand, then there are no last minute panics!

We are getting married on Saturday and then fly out on MOnday 4pm. Really nice to actually relax after the wedding the next day and not have to rush out of the hotel - if you get what I mean

We go a month a bit later, we go on Tuesday 10th September. If I were you, I'd pack before hand, no last minute rushes, no forgetting important things..

We get married on the Saturday, staying at the venue until the Sunday, travelling to London & staying in "The Union Jack Club" on the Sunday night then getting the Monday morning Eurostar train to Disney!

We get married on the Saturday and go on the Wednesday afterwards, lots of time to relax, take it in and open presents!!!!!!!!!! (hopefully)

we're only going to lancaster for a week but we will be going on ythe monday morning ( we get married on the saturday)

the way things stand at the moment ( still have a yr to go!) we are catching a plan at about 7am on the sunday after the wedding !! YES I KNOW!!! but otherwise i would have had to go back to work for a week....

Hi there,

We got married on Sat and flew out at mid-day on the following Monday.

Even then, we'd already packed. I'd have hated to burst the whole wedding bubble by doing something mundane like packing only one day after we got married!

Ergh!!

Tell him to get his skates on and pack - pre-wedding!

Grrrrrr!

we get married Sat and dont leave till Thursday, suits us as we have family traveling up for the wedding so we get to spend some time with them first too

We're flying out at midday on sunday, the day after the wedding.
No point in flying back home to pack

Check in time for long-haul flights is 2 hours and it's a 90 min drive to the airport so we have to leave the hotel around 8 am!!!
Should be ok though as we won't suffer from hangovers, h2b can't drink and therefore I am not going to get pissed either!

Got married on the saturday, left on the wednesday at midday.

I'm really pleased we did it this way, coz on the sunday we had breakfast at the hotel with family and friends, then we went for lunch for my uncle's retirement, then we went home and relaxed as Mr & Mrs. Sunday evening was bliss, just opening pressies and cards, and talking about the day over and over again!

We had everything ready to be packed, so I did it all on the tuesday!

We are getting married on the Saturday, and going on honeymoon on the Monday. That gives us Sunday to spend with our friends and family before they all go back to the UK.

We are packing before the wedding though - we don't want to be bothered with it last minute!
