Hello!
Mine is a 3 tier Sacher Torte (6", 8", 10") with ivory chocolate curls around each tier and on the top tier a small bouquet of red roses and ivy made with sugar paste. I don't really eat chocolate but I think most of our guests will enjoy it and we are freezing the top tier and having it at our New Year lunch with family.
Mmmm...makes me feel hungry talking about cake!! Have been v good today and only eaten 4(!) apricots..

£130!! Not expensive at all.
It is sponge as we do not like fruit cake. The turrets are made of cones apparently..
I think its so cool!

We were just talking about this last night. Our caterer is doing a cake buffet for us, and said he will do one special cake that we can use for the cutting bit. We have no idea what to go for, but I will be keeping my eye on this thread for inspiration. We don't have to tell him till 2 weeks before the day, so we have plenty of time!

All your cakes are stunning. My Mum's best friend is making my cake as part of our wedding present. I haven't seen anything I want yet. Is there any good places to look; books, magazine etc?
With a scottish theme and gold as my colours I'm sure I'll think of something.

Niddy...
The picture is Elizabeth Lyle, but I am having someone else make it in a similar style (but this is the closest picture I could find!!) I have changed my mind about 6000 times, and H2B is now fed up and says this is what we are having and no arguments!!!!
Jo, if you want a Scottish theme, I have seen an amazing tartan cake that looks like parcels! Or you could have tartan ribbon round the cake...we were looking onto that, but with the Royal stewart cake, we thought the red and green was a bit too christmassy! Do you want me to try and find a picture of the cake and post it for you?

Thanks Rebekah I would love to see that cake.
Ribbons is my another option. I am trying to find a company that can supply my h2b's tartan (Munro) so i can perhaps use it for my cake and I may have a go at making my own invites and using the ribbon as part of the design.

We are having a croque en brouche with caramel and decorated in strawberries. We will have a two foot high one for display and cake cutting and then the ones people will get to eat are staying in the fridge and coming out in portions with extra caramel and chocolate sauce with the evening buffet.
We was a bit worried about having a cake with fresh cream out in the sun (I am hoping the day will be sunny) so the hotel have kindly agreed to do this. I hope it looks and tastes good. I don't have a picie because we didn't know what we wanted so the hotels pastry chef had a play and came up with this.
All this talk of cake really is making me hungary.

We had a three tier cake which depicted a travel theme / places we have been together.
The top tier was New York on one side, which is where Dan proposed and Brighton on the other, which is where we live. The middle tier was Greece on oneside and a Balinese temple on the other and the bottom tier was a safari scene on oneside and a tropical beach on the other. 2 tiers were chocolate and 1 was fruit. I shall now try and attach the pics, but this sometimes doesn't work!

Wow Em, that's some cake
I've put a photo of mine in the smuggie section, but i'm a bit of a technophobe so wont attempt to post it here.
All your cakes are lovely though.
