David & I have more or less decided on having different heights of candles on each table for decorations, as opposed to having a floral table centre. However, we were puzzling over what to set the groups of candles on, and all those platter style things are very expensive.
So, today I went on the hunt, and found some mirrors for £4 each (on sale of course!) and bought 7 of them (eek!!) - now I'm feeling a bit chicken, so I thought I'd ask you lot, as you'll give it to me straight! I've tried to scan one, but they are a wee bit bigger than my scanner - try & imagine this on the table withsome candles grouped on it - hopefully there will still be some mirror showing to reflect the light!!
Now I just have to run it past the hubbie....

I think that is a fantastic idea! You will get the flickering light reflection and it will look sooo romantic! I just love candles I like your idea about the different hights to, its fab. Am actually quite jealous, wish I had thought of it!
It will look wonderful it really will, such a creative idea
I think it will look lovely. The only thing is you will have to be careful to get the right amount of candels. As too many will not reflect and look OTT.
I think different heights and the right amount will look very sophisticated and stylish on the tables.
Well done for getting the mirrors at such a bargain.
i think they look lovey, we are having candles of diff heights too. I bought charger plates at christmas time when the shops were full of them as they were cheaper. Like the idea of mirrors tho
Ahh Lynne - you are so organised!! If only I'd have thought of that, but we didn't get officially engaged until January, and have only just figured out the table decorations, so it looks like we missed the boat!!
We are getting the candles from candlesontheweb.com because they are so much cheaper than anywhere else I've found. I hope!!

We got our candles from asda of all places, they were a lovely cream colour instead of the yellow colour most places seemed to have. I cant remember the heights but they were 74p £1.98 & £2.49 i think and are nice and thick. They were also cheaper than anywhere i had found too
It's going to cost us about £75 for all the candles we need, so it is working out a good bit cheaper than getting the florist to do me anything (mind you I might get all the guests to lift the flowers in the church & bring them to the reception too...LOL). Other than that, I'm thinking of getting petals & sprinkling them round the candles so it has a bit of an American Beauty vibe...so at 2.30 am this morning I was sitting in front of my pc, with circles of paper, talking to H2B, working out heights & numbers of candles....madness!!
