Can anyone help me regarding duties of a toastmaster? One was provided with our reception, but H2B asked if one of his best friend's could do it instead. As he has gone along with (everyone else's) flow so far, it seems like a great idea, but we are not sure of the duties. Any help would be appreciated..
8 days to go, can't wait, spend a lot of time crying with soppiness whenever |I think about it!
Found this for you, basically tells you when the duties are needed (and do you want your friend to miss out because he's doing all this?)

Did any smuggies have a toastmaster? If so, were they expensive? Sorry to ask a monet question but we were thinking about having one but am not sure what they charge
We get ours as part of the hotel package and i have decided to stick with that.
They do alot with the hotel staff - for example if the pictures are taking a bit long letting the kitchen know so the food doesn't get spoiled etc that I felt the job would just be done better by the hotels chosen person. They are also much better and used to getting people in line and just making sure the day goes more or less to plan. Or if it doesn't making sure nobody knows.
To be honest they do a great deal and I don't think it would be much fun for your friend. Plus if they don't do it properley it can have effects on the whole day.
The choice is yours - but is there not something else they could do. Or maybe they could just do some of the more noticed duties - like introducing the bride and groom and the speeches etc.
Good Luck whatever you decide and have a great day.
Our hotel organised the toast master. His name was John and he was fantastic!!! The photo's took a bit longer than expected so we were running about 20 minutes behind, but he gained these back somewhere during the wedding breakfast! What a chap and he helped my SIL with her 6 week old baby so she could eat her dineer! Love him!!
He stayed until midnight as he was having such a good time!!
