Hi everyone
Just wanted to update you on the situation with H2B........we were both really tired last night but managed to have a chat - he says the reason he flashed up so badly when I started shouting at him was that he had had a truly terrible night with the BM and was in a rotten mood - he'd realised that he was now regretting asking him to do the job as he feels he is a real pain when he's got a drink in him and he's now starting to worry about the speech etc. He's suggested that we tell him that he's not doing the reading at the ceremony and that we ask someone more trustworthy to do it. He says he may also ask if he can see his speech and he is most certainly not giving him the rings - he is also going to sit him down and tell him that he must NOT get drunk the night before the wedding or the night of the wedding as he is not having his best man reeking of drink or behaving like an a***. I didn't push him into any of it but I did make my point about the BMs attitude and behaviour and he surprised me by coming out with all of this himself - he said after the wedding he's going to distance himself from the BM as he's realised they have nothing in common anymore. I am really upset for him though because 5 of his friends have died over the last few years, he fell out with the original BM because his girlfriend told him he wasn't staying the night before the wedding or dancing with the CBM and he now only has another one or two friends - the Navy saw to it that he lost all his other friends as he was never around and they all just drifted apart. Still, I'm glad we're speaking again - we both agreed that we think marriage will bring us closer, make us more secure and relaxed and that we should be more tolerant of each other, so fingers crossed, we will be fine.
My sciatica is back with a vengeance today though and I'm not in a good way at all - am supposed to have my hen night tomorrow, but am seeing the chiropractor during the day so hopefully she'll be able to loosen me up a wee bit..........even if I can't get up and dance, as long as I can sit and have a laugh, I'll be fine.
H2B has also found out that he can go on honeymoon after all - he thought he may not get the time off as he has been off sick, but he doesn't have to go back to work until 10th August, so that's another weight of our minds.......
Thank you all, once again, for being there for me - I appreciate all of the support I received. You guys are brilliant!
