Bev!

Alas my dear, the one area where I cannot be of assistance :( I am not having a photographer, per se. My Uncle is a BBC camera man and did the photos at my parents wedding, which I really like, so he is doing some, and his son, my cousin, is also taking some. Also, my sister\'s friend is doing a fine art degree and is specialising in photography and wants to use our wedding as a practise session, so she will be taking some too! It is just one of the many areas where we feel we cannot justify the expense of a photographer when we have some home-grown talent as it were.

I am a tad concerned in case the photos are crap, but they shouldn\'t be and we will have a lot to choose from. Being a photographer yourself, it must be harder for you because you know exactly what you are looking for and you know how you would do it yourself. I will have a look-see for some Island based photographers for you and see what I can come up with.

Don\'t give up, we will triumph over the Isle of Wight cultural dark ages! :)

Back soon
Love Jxx

Bev

Okay, found these on http://www.wedding-service.co.uk/iow.htm

Don\'t know if they have websites, but worth a look as this page has everything for the Isle of Wight, although seems a little bit \'quirky\' to say the least!

Brian Bradbury, Wroxhall : 854646
Hillslea Photographics, Ventnor : 855512
Paterson Photography, Wooton Bridge : 883643
Thearle Photography, Steven Michael Thearle LMPA, 23 Union Road, Ryde PO33 2ER : 01983-611706

Love Jxx :)

Thanks Jess, your a great help as always! :D

I have two guests who I studied with and I know that if they turn up I\'ll have nothing to worry about. But it\'s just whether they will come or not - we\'re not really close mates as such. I\'ll just have to keep my fingers crossed.

I agree with you - unless you get very lucky or can spend a fortune wedding photography is a real rip off. For bog standard wedding pics I have two other mates coming that would do a fine job - but as you say, I would just love something a little different, something a bit special. I think the other alternative is working out the shots and techniques in advance myself and then giving someone my gear to do it for me! I think I might end up doing my own wedding pics!!! :o
