Vows

During your wedding ceremony, you will say the declatory and contracting words.
If you have any special words which you would like to say to each other, you can request that they be included in the ceremony. Below are a few examples of words that can be said when exchanging rings. These are just a few options available and you can consult your Superintendent/Chief Registrar for more examples.

Please note that wedding vows differ in Scotland, Please see you Chief Registrar for examples of vows.

Version 1
I give you this ring in celebration of my love for you and as a pledge to honour you and to grow with you for the whole of my life.
I will love you and care for you, I will trust and be honest with you, in good times and in bad.
I will share your interests and hopes for the future.
I will laugh with you, cry with you, be with you.

Version 2
This ring I give you as a sign of my promises, made to you on our wedding day.
I will give you the best of myself and ask of you no more than you can give.
I will keep myself open to you and share my fears and feelings, secrets and dreams.
I will respect you as your own person. Your interests, desires and needs will be no less important than my own.
I promise to live alongside you and to love you whatever the future holds, completely and forever.

Version 3
I give you this ring as a token of my love and as a symbol of our shared life together.
I promise to stand by you whatever the future holds, to cherish and to care for you for the whole of our life together.

Version 4
I give you this ring as a sign of our marriage; all that I am I give to you and all that I have I share with you, for the whole of our life together.
Before these witnesses this is my promise:
To treasure and take care of the special love we have together, to grow with you and respect your ideas and expressions, to always talk with you and share our happy times and our sad times. I promise loyalty and friendship and to love you with all that I am and all that I can.
This I promise you from the depths of my heart and mind, for all our life together.

i suppose the sentiment behind is the same, but i think i would go for nikkis option
