RINGS



The giving of a ring to the bride, or the exchange of rings between bride and groom is at the heart of the wedding ceremony.

The wedding ring need not be new. Many couples prefer to use an old or antique ring or possibly a family heirloom.

There is a superstition which considers it unlucky to buy the engagement and wedding ring on the same day, and another which says that the wedding ring should not be worn before the actual ceremony. But obviously the bride will need to ensure that it fits.

It is also worth making sure that it looks well alongside the engagement ring.

Although it is tempting to follow fashion when selecting a ring, a simple traditional style often proves to be the best choice, as this will not become "old fashioned",
even after many years.
