Default Gift List??

Hiya

I am having a bit of a nightmare because i can't decide wether to do a gift list - we are going abroad and then having a party for everyone when we get back - do you think people will see it as rude if we did a Gift list ??

I don't think so; people will probably want to give you gifts wherever you get married. If you're unsure, then you could always do one and then just give out details to those who ask - thus not offending those who don't think you should have one.

HTH!

My friend did the same as you, married in Mexico and then had a party on their return for friends and family.

They didn't do a list, they felt it rude as people were only coming to the party. They and ended up with quite a few things they didn't want.

My friends that got married in June asked for B&Q, John Lewis or Argos vouchers. When they sent their invites out they included a sheet with directions to the church and reception and a list of local accommodatin and at the bottom and under a seperate heading they put wedding list and under that just stated that there wasn't a specific list they didn't want presents just people to join the fun of their day but they would be happy with vouchers from ..... Sarah told me afterwards loads of people commented what a good idea it was and everyone got them vouchers.

Hope that helps

Not at all, perhaps only give the list to those that ask and not generally with invites if you feel cheeky.

Most people would prefer some direction or at least a specific shop for vouchers.

Go for it!

We're only having a small wedding & didn't want people to feel preasurised into buying us gifts so we said that if they felt they wanted to buy something then Gift Vouchers for Howells or Argos would be the most appropriate things!

i think it will be fine, ppl will no doubt ask what you want anyway, you could always do like Heather said and ask for vouchers , that way you can still get the things you want
