All day today, I have been struggling to log in to anything at work because my username wasn't recognised.....
It turns out that someone with a brain the size of a peanut has gone and changed all records so that my name is now my new married name. A bit premature, because the wedding is not till the 24th!
Imagine my shock when I finally managed to log in, and got a "Welcome Catherine Carr" message!!
My name is changing!!! It has made me feel all wierd!!!!
No - I haven't got round to changing my passport yet. It is a shame because it would have been nice for the honeymoon, but in some ways it will be easier this way. I need to remember to do everything when I get back!
I haven't got most things changed yet, but did go on honeymoon as Mrs Eastman which was great!! And I'm slowly getting used to it at work too, although people I haven't spoken to in a while are getting very confused when I answer the phone!!
They got the date wrong on my passport when I got it changed so instead of being valid from the date of the wedding it was vaild straight away!! I was a little concerned as it had been implied that I was going abroad for my hen and my passport as being changed at the time!! They should have told me their plans!! London in the end though so nice and safe!!
I must get things changed or I'll forget who I am where etc....
ANyway, back to the point, it really is a little keen of them to change your name already isn't it? Easing you in gently I guess!

With regards to changing your name on the passport, I timed my wedding perfectly. My passport expires on September 27th, and the wedding is October 12th, so I had to get a new one anyway.
When I went to get the form signed, my vicar was pleased that I had done it beforehand as he married a couple a few years ago who decided against changing it before the wedding. The only problem with this was that they honeymooned in an African country with very strong feelings about unmarried couples sharing a room, and the hotel refused to let them sleep together.
I think that I would have been fine in New England but I shall have a shiny new passport anyway! It also meant that I got to practice my new signature earlier, although it is as ilegible as my current one, and startlingly similar!
Wow, they're veering from one extreme to another there! One of the girls from the office here got married in November and is still struggling to get her name/userid's changed! I wonder what will happen when I need to have mine changed
I just had the rudest man ever - he was serving in a shop and served this customer whilst trying to listen to me and then i had to repeat it all because he was concentrating on his customer!!
I've got a form at home that I need to send off AFTER September 13th to confirm I've completed 24 months Chairside Work (Dental Nursing), as I get married on 21st I was worried it would all be in my maiden name.
Thankfully there is a change of details section!
I was so chuffed as I was dreading having to change all that just a week after my certificate etc was sorted out!
Not changed my passport as it seemed like a lot of hassle! I'll be carrying my marriage certificate EVERYWHERE.... we're having enough hassle as it is! Matt's just realised that his passport has expired... need to get that sorted!

I know how it is, though - when I had to send off my passport for the married one, I had to practice my 'new' signature everywhere, most specifically all over my desk pad in my office - people kept coming in to observe my obsessively scrawling 'VCRoddam' everywhere like a demented Bridget Jones type... I'd never really tried out my married signature before and it kept me amused for hours...
