have you tried ordering over the internet??????? there is a company which i ordered from called www.bravissimo.com
they do underware for the larger figure like me!!! (im a size 16 with 38DD boobs!!!! :( mind you H2B thinks its great!!!! ;) ha ha!!)
heres a few web addys if you want to take a look!!?
I\'m not sure about ordering online - I\'m just worried that nothing will fit properly and I\'ll end up sending so much stuff back, etc. I have one new hope here - a company called (and dont laugh) Nancy Ganz Pants! Apparently the products are fab for keeping everything in place and getting rid of lumps and bumps - but I\'m still going to see if I can find a traditonal coresety thing first.
Thanks again for the hekp Claire! I will look out for any other sites and pass on the URLS if I find anything. :)
The Nancy Gants range is really flattering when you try it on, but not the easiest of things to put on!! The pants are not the most alluring of lingerie (understatement of the year) as they are basically big big big pants that go up to just under your bra.
However, as I fully plan to change the underwear near the end of the reception, or perhaps nip into the bathroom before Jonathan, he need never know what I was wearing!!
Actually as I haven\'t even got my dress yet, this is all academic. I do a lot of my lingerie shopping with Bravissimo, They are on the web , have a catalogue, and have 2 shops - one in London, and the other in Manchester. I bought a strappy top with a built in bra this summer, and it looked great.
Karen your the perfect person to ask - are they comfy (ie: will I be able to breathe?) and do they have poppers in the gusset (I really hate that word) so you can have a wee without taking everything off?
Just wondering because I may have to go with them as the big girls undie store here gets everything from the states and apparently orders have slowed tremendously since Sep. 11.
Ideally I would love to buy it in the UK, but as the dress is coming back to the store here in February I have to have all my accessories ready for the alterations. ACK!!
Nancy Gants pants are like old ladies pants...they are made of a material with loads of lycra, and pull on like normal pants. They go up as far as your bra, but you treat them as normal pants - ie you pull them up and down to go to the toilet. They seem quite comfy, but as I only tried them on in the changing rooms of Debenhams don\'t take my word for it!! Also take my advice and TRY THEM ON! Obvious I know, but as the sizing is American, they are cut very generously; if they are too big the top of them will roll down - not attractive! The range includes a number of other garments, but I can only remember the control slip - which actually wasn\'t hideous.
As I am the same size as you Kate I can sympathise. However, I have bought strapless bras (by Fantasie ) from Debenhams in the past - perhaps they were just sold out of them because it is the time of year we all buy them for Xmas parties?
I can heartily recommend www.Bravissimo.com - they only start bras at a D cup :tumble:
They also have 2 shops, one in London and one in Manchester.
Don\'t give up!!There are a number of manufacturers who make this size of strapless brs - Fantasie, Silhouette and Ballet all have them. Also Rigby and Peller make the most fabulous lingerie for weddings, but it is expensive :o
