Go to your profile, then "options". Go to Avatar and click "change avatar". It will then give you an option to use a custom avatar, click this to "yes" and then upload your avatar from your hard drive. It will need to be a suitable size which I think is 50x50 pixels. If this is what you are struggling with, send it to me and I'll rsize it for you.
