The wedding is 1st june 2002 and it is the jubilee week-end so all the kids are on 1/2 term. Do we send out our invites earlier than the recommended 6 weeks to ensure everyone gets plenty of notice?? I think the beginning of March but H2B says mid April
I think the etiquette (if that matters) is anywhere between three months and six weeks. We were going to do our 3 months in advance (End MArch early April) so do what you want. Also, that way, we have time before we reach the 6 week date to send out more to people who refuse.
hmmm

We got married in June of last year and we sent out save the date cards in January (nothing special, just printed them off on the computer at work).
Then we sent out the invites at the beginning of March. Got back everything in plenty of time that way and people had already noted the date in their calendars early.
Im getting married 27th july and mine have been sent last week, with it being the holiday season aswell we want to get as many reply's back so we can move on to the B list if nessessary!
luv

Hi Rockbabe - I'm getting married on that Bank Holiday Monday (3rd June) and sent my 'A' List invites out b4 Christmas to make sure everyone got it in their new diaries.
B'list day invites went out last week, along with the evening invites.
What else have you done? I ordered my dress a week b4 Christmas, although it wont be in the shop until about April
We're choosing rings this weekend & H2B ordered suit (hiring it) last weekend.
We haven't booked honeymoon yet - what about you? Kate

So far i have ordered the dress - awaiting fitting date, venue sorted, entertainment sored, flowers - still trying to decide on button holes but it will probably be heather (scottish wedding) flower girl still needs some flowers sorted. rings - still waiting for response from jewellery designer, honeymoon - still to sort out.
I think I am pretty much sorted on the reception front. but it's all those little things that are starting to build p now and it is only 16 weeks till the day and h2b is still saying - we have ages yet!!!
I need to finish decorating a bedroom at home as so many people want to stay. aaarrggghhh I have loads to do really don't I!!
I'm getting married in just under 10 weeks now, and we haven't sent our invites out yet - they have been ordered though! Think we will probably send them out in the next couple of weeks, or however long it takes to write them
Not really worried about not giving people enough time etc. coz all our close friends and family already know the wedding date!

I have had to send out some invites already, we don't get married until Saturday 3rd August. Some of the guests are in the army, so they need to apply for leave. But other than that it will be about 6-8 weeks in advance of the wedding.

my invites went out Sept. 8th really unfortunate timing, and well in advance we wanted to give family & friends enough time to save $$$ to come (overseas & all) most guests recieved it on Sept 11 or later. A few said it was really nice to get something cheerfull-and a few were so terrified of the anthrax scare they tossed them without opening(insert sad icon). but sent emails in reply
