Mrs Williams has left the building!
Well what can I say!? It was the best day of my life ever! Here’s a very long breakdown:
The day before we had lots of guests arriving from all over the place, in preparation for the big day, so there was lots of entertaining, feeding and introducing to be done. It all turned into a bit of an unplanned party and those of us staying at the hotel the night before had to drag ourselves away. My parents, me and my CBM all packed off the hotel where we decorated the table and put out all the cameras etc – we then went and had a quick drink at the bar. By the time we got to bed it was gone midnight, then me and my CBM were chatting and by the time we turned off the light, it was gone 2am! I hardly slept at all and was exhausted but excited by the time we had to get up.
We had breakfast and then decamped to the bridal suite to get ready, my hairdresser friend turned up and did mine and CBM’s hair (stunning) and then my flowers arrived along with the first tears of the day! I was so gobsmacked by how beautiful they were, I just burst into tears! Anyway, the morning whizzed by in a flurry of hair things, make-up things, and getting in our dresses that before I knew it, the Hotel Manager had come to collect me and my dad. As we started to walk towards the ceremony room, there were a few of the guests taking pictures and my sister with her camcorder recording the whole thing and my knees started knocking. As we came up to the room and I saw everyone turn around and look at me - I started to grin and then welled up – so basically blubbed my way down the aisle! Gary was REALLY nervous and looked so handsome standing there, he looked like he was ready to blub too, but managed to keep it back. We exchanged vows with me sniffing my way through the whole thing – we both managed to say everything clearly and there were no stuff ups (quite amazing for both of us!). It was so beautiful and special and the memory of Gary’s face looking at me with such love and sincerity when we exchanged our vows will stay with me forever.
Unfortunately the weather wasn’t so perfect and it was intermittent showers, my train got soaked and I kept treading on organza overskirt, which has ripped terribly, but I guess these things just happen.
The meal was fantastic and so were the speeches. Gary’s dad did a toast to the guests, my dad did a very funny speech and then finished it off with a poem that he had written especially for the day. It was called Memories and was so emotional that most of the guests (even the men) were crying! I have already watched the video and it set us off again! I also got up and said the thank you’s and presented Gary with a rubber Elvis wig (we’re going to Memphis for our honeymoon) and then I was followed by my CBM Lisa who did Gary’s speech for him – it was excellent, very funny and went down a treat!
The rest of the evening went in a bit of a blur really, the disco was brilliant and the evening buffet was also fantastic, but there was lots (and I mean lots) left over which is a terrible shame. Gary and I finally got to bed at about 2:30, to find that some joker had taken our mattress from the bed and put it on top of the four poster!
All in all it was a wonderful, wonderful day! The venue was absolutely brilliant, they couldn’t have been more helpful and made the day run so smoothly. My cake was beautiful too and so much so that I almost didn’t want to cut it!
We will be flying off to Memphis tomorrow to make more memories and now that I’m a smuggie, I’ll be expecting my muffin in due course!
Thank you all so much for all your advice and help over the last few months. So many times when I just needed an unbiased viewpoint it has been MGW that has provided the answers I needed.
Thanks also to Snowball for your lovely card and post on here, it’s a shame I didn’t get to see you for myself, but perhaps I’ll lurk around when it’s your big day if you don’t mind. I hope you have got everything sorted out and if you need any help, just let me know. You will have such a wonderful day there, it’s a brilliant venue and they really do make sure you have the best day of your lives.
‘See’ you all in a couple of weeks – unless I get the urge to slip into a internet café while we’re there!
I've tried to post a photo and although it says it's only 72k on the PC, MGW is not allowing me to post! I'll keep trying with a blank post...
Mrs Karen Williams

Getting our marriage certificate! No I'm not picking my g-string out of my bottom as has been suggested by several people!

Our beautiful cake, unfortunately this photo doesn't do it justice, it was simply stunning. The lady that made this has never made a wedding cake before!

Thank you all for your lovely messages! We're now back from our honeymoon in memphis - wow what a place! I'll be putting some info on to the honeymoon discussion and some piccies!
It's wonderful being Mrs Williams and we're both still getting over it all, he still calls me Lee though, especially if I'm misbehaving!!
Thanks again,
Mrs Williams xx
PS How do I change my username to reflect my new inital?

You'll need to ask Bev to change your user name, I think if you just PM her with your new details, she'll arrange it for you
