How old are you all?
I had someone ask me the other day, didnt I think I was too young to get married and didnt I want to live a bit before I got tied down. Im 22, and I cant understand it, how can I not have a life after Im married, I think my life will be 100 times better. Has anyone had this before, am I too young? what age are you all?
Sorry if thats a personal question, tell me to mind my own business if u want.

They could be, why do people act like that? It is a very nasty trait.
I think you are right in what you say 'you know when you are ready'. I knew after about 5 or 6 months of Chris and I being together and we had only known each other a month longer than that. I asked him then to marry me, said yes of course. But then he did it properly last december.
So what if you are younger, all that means in you were born in a certain year. It's what is in your head that matters.

I hope it has helped you feel a little better. You shouldn't listen to other people as they certainly don't know what goes on in your head and heart. They are probably only voicing their own thoughts and fears on life, from their limited perspective.
Yes, pleanty of years to live your life after marriage (and before) and there should be no reason why a ring on your finger should stop you from doing anything.

PS I think this is my 100th posting. Wow.

I am 30 and Dave is 31. We have been ready to get married since we were about 18! but the only reason we didnt was because we always had something else to spend our money on.
First we spent it on lots of travelling, then our house, then our children came along. We have maybe done things the wrong way round but who's to say its wrong.
If it is right for you then you must ignore comments like that, you have been together for a long time already so you know you want to be together, your age doesnt matter.

I'm 24 & Matt's 28!
I had quite a few people in work comment about me being too young... it was only recently when a friend thought I was 19 or 20 did I suddenly click why people thought it! (Most of the girls on my course are that sort of age!)
My mum was 24 when she married my dad.......
I think we're both the perfect age!

I'm 30 and Nick is 34. I think it's all relative - I didn't meet the right one til I met Nick and I knew it. You obviously do feel right so who cares how old you are??? Your business and noboy else's - does your life stop when you put a wedding ring on?

I'm 31 (nearly 32 ) and Shawn is 34 (nearly 35). I'll be 33 when I get married but would never have married anyone other than Shawn so I feel that I'm at the right age to get married.
Bit narked that there's not much chance of celebrating 70 years together!!

I'm 29 and Billy's 6 months younger, 28 just now. I agree with the others - don't listen to anyone else. I was engaged at 18 to someone else and after 2 years I realised that I was far too young and wanted to spread my wings so I called the wedding off a year before it happened - it was the best thing I ever did. When I got engaged to Billy it felt so right, it felt so different and I knew I wanted it - when I'd got engaged before I was carried away with having a big dress and all the trimmings and it didn't sink in until much later that I actually had to spend the rest of my life with the man........that's when I got out. You sound as if you know what you're doing and you really love your H2B and want to be with him forever - so enjoy the planning and tell everyone else to mind their own!!!!

I am 19 (20 in 2 weeks ) so im a bit younger than you and Mark is 24. We get married when i am almost 22 and Mark is 25 and we will have been together 3 and a half years.
Luckily all our family have been really supportive as have our friends as they know how much we love each other and how serious we are. The only people who had any pesimistic comments to make are people who dont know us and who we couldnt give a damn about what they think anyway. You know youre ready for it so let these people think what they like - its nothing to do with them anyway.
You are both happy and safe in the knowledge that you are doing the right thing and thats all that matters

We're both 24 but we've been together since 17 and we get stick for that, but we never thought it would last either so that's fair enough!
I agree with the others, I got married because I knew who I wanted to be with. I will still be living my life and I'm not going to change. Even without the ring, I still would be with Chris and he would be my first thought before making life choices anyway. The only difference is that he has to come with me wherever I choose to go in my life now!

I'm 25 and Mark is 28 (we were 24 and 27 when we got married) We got engaged when I was 22 (that seems soooooooooooo long ago now ) and that was after 6 months together! People were saying I was foolish and too young blah blah blah, but we prooved them wrong
I LOVE being married, and have been so busy since the wedding, it's all a myth that you'll be stuck indoors doing the cleaning and cooking etc. Mark and I are always out and about catching up with friends and family

I'm 24 and Paul is 30. We've been together for four years so I was only 20 when we met.
I think what you've all said is right. It does depend on the person and you know if you are ready to get married. Thats all that matters, it doesn't bother me what anyone else thinks. A few people have said that I'm too young but i'll prove them wrong, I'm really looking forward to it all.
