i've gone on here to seek solist amongst other nearly married people, i think we have finaly got it sorted now, it only took three hours of creming and shouting, just why do we all go through this i think we should all start a new trend and let them all dicide where they want to sitr when they get there( i wish!), but i'm glad its done now, and thankfully me and my dad got over our row and we are now happy, but the phrase neve agian comes to mind

Emma, im glad you have got it all sorted now hun. This is one part of the planning that im not looking forward to. Theres so much "Oh, Auntie Jane cant sit next to Auntie Gladys"!! Well sod that, theyll sit where i put them and be happy with it - i dont intend to give myself an ulcer so i think ill probably leave that to my mum and dad to sort as they know who gets on and who doesnt!! I wonder if theyll agree to do it!!
I actually found ours surprisingly easy! (smug grin icon) I thought it would be hell because Chris's parents are split up but luckily both sides of his family are very conveniently sized and we had 8 from each side! job done!
Glad you've got it done though em, I know loads of people find it really hard.

I have spent many hours puzzling over mine. My problem isn't so much who sits with whom, it is more the table sizes that are the problem. Because I want the tables with bare polished oak, rather than with table cloths on, I only have certain sizes to work with. So having decided how many people we have coming, I then discover that they don't divide into the number of tables that I have. Also, I keep changing the table combinations and starting again, only to find that I have either lost someone or written them down twice. I never seem to have the correct number!
I currently have it all looking nice except for two leftover people. I am sure that it will all sort itself out eventually. I just need to stop looking at it for a while.
Well at least you can rest easy that yours is done Mistle!
I am not getting married until July 2003 and already I
have my mother (who is vast resembling the Shee Devil)
telling me to not have aunty so and so sitting by uncle what's his face
This is something that I am soooooooo dreading - and I just know that there will be with my mother dearest
Poor you, at least you have managed to get it sorted out now.
I have all this to look forward to. We havent even actually set the date yet and already my mum and MIL2B are talking about table plans, dresses and all sorts of other things. At least they seem to get on really well though which is good. They've already started talking about who sit where and next to who. I wouldn't mind so much but so far we've not decided on a date or a venue and they are taking over already. Its going to be mine and H2B's day and they'll sit where we tell them and put up with it.

I think, like Nicola B, I have a funny number of guests too - ideally I needed 50 or 60 but have 50-odd. I'm not looking forward to planning mine so I sympathise Emma - glad it's done now! Anything else to do?
