Lightbulb Placenames

everyone,

I've just been thinking about how to write my guest's names on the placesettings, however, I can't do calligraphy and my handwriting isn't the neatest.

I've heard that you can buy transparent sticky labels that you can print the names onto and then stick to the placecards. Has anyone else heard of these? If so, do you know where I can buy them from and if they are worth it? Do they look nice and are they easy to use?

Or can anyone suggest anything else that I could do?

Thanks, Beeny

Have you got a friend or someone who could write them for you?

Calligraphy's not that hard, all you need is the right pen and a bit of practise, why not give it a go?

I think hand written ones look a bit more personal than printed ones, you'll probably surprise yourself, I have scruffy handwriting normally, but with a calligraphy pen even MY writing looks okay

Hi

Instead of a proper calligraphy pen,you can get shaped italic felt tip pens (we got ours from WH Smith) which seem to make it a bit easier. Maybe that would be an idea?

My Mum's volunteered to do all ours 'cos she has the neatest handwriting. Personally I'd rather have handwritten place cards than printed ones - even if they aren't the neatest - maybe you could even make it a feature

Hope that helps

I have absolutly appualing handwriting (so used to using a computer) so I printed mine off the computer and they looked really good.

I used card that was perferrated (sp?) for business cards so I printed a name on every other card and then I had a perfect fold with the perferrations that was between the cards

My mum has very "elegant" handwriting so she did ours! Roping other people in for these fiddley things is always a cunning plan...
