Question Veil help

Well, I've decided I need a veil, and we figured out what is best. Trouble is, I have no money left for this! I need a simple white tulle veil, 1 piece (just the long flowing bit) no edging on a comb, and quite long (so it drags a bit). Does anyone know anything about making veils, or patterns or anything at all?

Hello,
I made my own veil, and although I started with a pattern, I didn't like how it ended up, so I started again and made it up as I went along. Mine was just a circle, which I folded off centre and gatthered it up and sewed it to a comb. I then attached an edging which took my DAYS to sew on! You are wise to have no edging. You can save a fortune though by making your own. I think that mine was about £5, including the edging.

There are patterns in fabric shops that you could get, otherwise I should think that you just need to buy the length of netting that you need, measuring from the top of your head to where it needs to end up, then gather up the top and sew it to a comb, and perhaps round the bottom off at the corners.

It all works in my head, but it probably doesn't read correctly! Sorry!

Nicola
