Today, H2B and I finally sat down and had a proper, huge discussion about the wedding.

Don't know if anyone else's H2B is the same, but mine has shown not a great deal of interest about table decorations and the like (admittedly, we're not getting married until June 2003, but even so

)

So, I'm all excited! We even got the colour scheme sorted out!

sounds like you and h2b had a break through ive been trying for nearly 2 years to get h2b to talk weddings and hes not having it

Glad you had the chat, I think (hope) you'll find he'll get more and more involved in time. Its important for him to be involved, its his day too, so give him tasks to do if you think that'll help and make him realise that his voice will be listened to and his views taken into account. I think men would be more interested in stuff like venue, car, DJ etc rather than table decs and flowers though!

Phew! Glad you're making some headway! SO tell us what was decided - and what you'd sorted before?

We have decided on the guest list - about 55 to the ceremony and day reception and about 170 to the evening reception.

We're getting married up at Gretna (high excitement

)and then having the evening reception a few days later. The reason we were going to Gretna in the first place was because it was going to be a small do. That idea soon went out of the window!

We've also decided on the colour scheme: dark blue and silver.

Cake: 3 tier American style with blue and silver star decorations and sparklers coming out of the top.

Invitations: luckily, a family member who is a graphic designer is making them for us but we discussed some ideas of designs etc.

I'm just pleased to have made some headway!

Oooh, sounds grand! You're lucky to have a mildly enthusiastic h2b - my Nick is dreadful! He does what he has to and that's that!

Hi Jellyhead (welcome by the way!) my h2b is the same, I know he is interested in the wedding and wants to get married but he just leaves all the little things to me! I grumble at him for not being more enthusiastic but at the end of the day I secretly like organising the day but like to remind him from time to time that I have been busy!
